G'day all,

I've been suffering through multiple rounds of golf in Tucson, AZ the last five days (woe is me!) and been unable to keep up with the chatter here and on the league page. I think I'm in compliance which, if you know me, is a feet in and of itself.

We have several strat wizzards among us here. I'd love to read some predictions by division.

re. Wine, etc. As far as I'm concerned, and I think this goes for all the rules, but correct me if I'm wrong, the different themes only apply to starters. Wine is fine (but liquor's quicker :wink: ) but you can't have him designated as a defensive replacement to purposely come in during games.

Anyone disagree?

I am okay with that. Part 2 though is not to check the box for a defensive replacement for the starter (ESPECIALLY, IRON GLOVE GUYS).

In keeping with the spirit of Iron Glove theme:

1) You cannot check the box to remove an "Iron GLove" 4 Fielder (or better fielder if the upgrade wouldn't be allowable if you were penciling in new allignment as a starting line-up) for a defensive replacement

AND

2) You cannot provide for a defensive replacement in "manager strategy" which would similarly put you out of compliance if new allignment was your starting line-up. For example, no "1" defensive shortstop if you already have a "1" in the IF.

a question about staying in compliance...

when you have someone get injured or when you have someone get benched by another player, can you play an a player who is not in that decade in that position.

for instance, i have harry danning. he goes down for 6 games. blanchard can catch also, so can i move blanchard to catcher and move another non-60's player to LF?

my understand was that as long as your non-injury lineup was in accordance w/ the rules, that is all that matters.

also, take that same scenario, but instead of danning going down for 6 games, another manager playing me requests he gets benched (per rule 11 or whatever). am i allowed to be out of accordance then?

yes, you can be out of compliance for injuries. I think it is also fair for "Go to Jail" consequences.

BUT NOTE, if you make the manual injury replacement, you have to make sure to switch it back so that AS SOON AS INJURED PLAYER IS HEALTHY you are back in compliance.

Forget to switch back, GET FINED. This includes switching back in adavnce of injured player's return if he is due back in the middle of a series in a line-up he would otherwise start.
