New league forming...Vets vs. the rooks!

Postby ANDREWLAITURI » Mon Oct 31, 2005 5:31 pm

Cummings: There are no rules to level the playing field. You don't even have to announce the stadium ahead of time.

This strong medicine you rooks need to take straight up without a chaser.
(Might as well smacktalk now before I get my a$$ kicked! )

Welcome DT, now we just need two more victims...err...rookies.

1. tyber90 (grizzled vet)
2. cummings2 (green, inocent, kind and naive rookie)
3. etdefender (vet of superior skill and intellect)
4. stoney18 (been beaten by the best and keep coming back for more)

CENTRAL

1. charliewb (not-so grizzled vet)
2. detroit-tigers (WOW vet)
3.
4.

WEST

1. JdEarly ("Rookie", and I will let you guys off the hook by joining a different division)
2. Jeff ("Rookie" with scary talent)
3. penngray (I have credit burn, Bring it on!! )
4. fillies2 ( a glass 1/2 full Vet)

C'mon rookies jump on in. There's really no better place to get a
baptism by fire than playing with Veterans that know alot about this
game. It really is a great way to "learn".
You may be wondering...why should I join and probably get my butt
handed to me on a silver platter ? A. It's no pressure to be the Underdog.
The Veterans are all "tense" because they are "expected" to win, and show us "feather weights" how it's done. ( I used an awful lot of quotation marks in that last part... how tacky !) B. The Veterans are usually really good about keeping up with the "trash talk" and keeping the leagues
active right up until the end. C. It's fun to watch them "build" their teams...me, I'll be taking notes !! and D. It's a great bunch of guys, who you'll run into alot if you stay around and keep playing.

So, Let's get two Rookies with some guts...

Jeff (gjtjeff) A sub .500 career rookie !!

One more reason to join, Imagine the bragging rights you can earn by beating these guys !!! :D

This sounds like a fun bunch of guys who are willing to take and dish out some trash...I'm not a rookie, but once a year on Halloween I like to dress up in a mini skirt and high heels and do da' cha cha like a sissy gurl - I lika' doo da' cha cha...

So can I play?

Hey robo...just to see you doo da' cha cha in a mini I say you play here.

Maybe 6 Vets, 5 rooks and one cha-cha dancing hottie!

Heck, I don't mind if it lopsides towards the vets, more learning er... vet butt to kick around for us rooks!

Let robo play...I'll even name my team on his honour The Mini cha chas.

Speaking as a "rookie" team my 2 cents is...

I don't mind if it's lopsided either. Just the fact that it's a mix makes it
fine in my opinion, it don't have to be even stevens. More Veterans
means more shots at pulling off the upset !!!

Yeah put Robo with charlie...serves him well for not showering

charlie, you know I like you ever since the Horde's comeback from 15 games under but it seems we are lining up red vs blue and rook vs vet...if I don't throw the big guys at you you'll whip me around for a long time - you see charlie is no regular vet in SOM, this guy's not only a vet but a doctor too, he'll fix his teams in a flash and make runs for championships left and right...he's no vet, he's a pet doctor!...and before you make any wise cracks: No, I won't be your pet, and no, you can't fix me anything.

In fact if there is need for the central to be three vets vs. one rook I have no problem moving to the central and being the fodder err..leader of the bunch...I'll foresee a foot kicking vet butt in the central and that foot is wearing my shoe! (my goodness what I am getting into).

Maybe I should move to the central, because you vets are gonna [i:93796bcc0f]need[/i:93796bcc0f] a doctor to get my foot out of your a$$. I'd jump in with both feet, but then we'd really have problems.

WHERE HAVE YOUS GUYZ BEEN ALL YEAR?

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Tue Nov 01, 2005 3:53 am

This is the most chatter I have heard since we switched Boards - finally a bunch of guys who speak. I can barely get a whimper out of anyone in my leagues all season. Altho I never carry more than 3-4 teams - I am going with my 5th here just cuz of the banter.

I also have been wanting to play with a bunch of guys who I haven't played with much or at all before. This sounds like fun.

Are we going to name our BP's before we play? If it goes to a vote, I will vote in favor. I'll check some of my other leagues and see if I can entice one of the hot young rooks to play with the 3 central vets. Thanks for letting me play. Just please not a saturday waiver frenzy - I have missed 4 in a row now.

BTW

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Tue Nov 01, 2005 4:01 am

If it helps, I'll wear my leopard leotards and fire engine Red G-String whenever I set my Pitchers for the week. Anything for effect. I was starting to get bored this year.

I am also NOT playing at Fenway anymore this year - After a 95 win 60M League where I lost to Riggo in the Finals, I thought I had Fenway figured out - but have had my butt handed to me in 3 successive leagues there.

I am definitely going to play somewhere I haven't played yet this season - like Kauffman or something like that - But don't quote me just yet.

I am also not certain that everyone here knows who robvoz actually is (I lost my original handle in the crossover(And I don't mean sexual preferences either.)

robvoz= swpsychic
