Injuries

Can someone clarify the chance of injuries for a 1 injury player. Is it max 3 games for those with over 600 AB's? If that is the case then have I just been unlucky with Alou getting injured for 3 games after just one match? Is he likely to be injury free from now on. I managed to lose two of my essential satrters for two of my first three games!

All the three game max injury period for those with over 600 ABs gives you is a guarantee that when such a batter gets hurt, it will be limited to three games. However, if HAL's rolls are unkind, one of those guys can get hurt once a week or more. There's no limit on that, it is simply a matter of whether the computer rolls a HBP+inj.

Actaully, there is a slight edge by alou getting HBP + injury. that does means he get on base at least once, just make sure you got a very good hitter after him, :)

I once had Klesko get hurt...come back and immediately get hurt again. It is frustrating. Is there a limit to how many players can be hurt at once or can a run of bad luck leave you with half your team out with injuries?

That would have to be a really bad run of luck, but there is no limit on how many times a player "might" be injured. It's a roll of the dice, but for an inj 1 player the odds are 1/216 = less than half a percent per appearance.

Even an inj 5/6 player will generally play 100-120 games (but the odds are higher in regard to that run of bad luck). Players like Mauer and F Thomas are often picked despite their injury roll because they can do so much damage with the bat when they are playing.

Injuries are bad, but I wouldn't ignore all injury prone players. With the right platoon/bench they can be very effective.
