Shankly 81

I just joined a 2003 league, waivers were today, so I can look at some of the differences in prices for you. The single biggest increase from the 2003 set has to be Adrian Beltre. He was only .87 in 2003 and about 11 million in 2005. Other significant changes were Orlando Cabrera (6.18) Sheffield (11.23) Richard Hidalgo( 8.17) and Scott Podsednik( 5.39)

Injuries also play a factor. Sexson( 7.55), Garret Anderson( 6.62), Jason Giambi (6.34) and Garciaparra( 7.26) were all more in 2003.

On the pitching side, Esteban Loaiza( 7.89) and Jose Contreras( 7.54) fell in price big time. Both are .50 this year. Hudson( 8.87), Prior( 8.66), and Mussina( 7.92) also fell in price. On the other side of it, RJ went from 1.97 to 11.90 this year.

As far as players completely vanishing, I'm sure there have been many over the years. Cal Ripken Jr., Canseco and McGwire were in the 2001 set and of course are gone because of retirement. Adam Hyzdu is one guy who was great in the 2002 set, especially in Coors, and was in 2003 but is gone now.

Let me know if you are curious about any certain players from 2003 and I can look them up for you.

[b:7a6eca1c2e]Neal Cotts [/b:7a6eca1c2e]- under 1 mil in 2005, had a very good season.

[b:7a6eca1c2e]Derek Lee [/b:7a6eca1c2e]should be over 12 mil.

[b:7a6eca1c2e]Bartolo Colon [/b:7a6eca1c2e]& [b:7a6eca1c2e]John Lackey[/b:7a6eca1c2e] stunk in 2005, both had great years for the Angels.

Should also see a big jump for [b:7a6eca1c2e]Morgan Ensberg[/b:7a6eca1c2e].

[b:8174f7cff7]Derek Jeter [/b:8174f7cff7]has super fielding stats and his highest OBP in several years. If SOM gives him a "1" rating at SS, he could be a 10+ mil player.

Think of the injury ratings next year on Mike Cameron and Cliff Floyd, among others...Jose Reyes will experience a big surge in value.

I don't know if we're including rooks in this, but Jonny Gomes is going to have an amazing first-time card. His OPS should put him close to the first page of hitters.

MIKE LOWELL

HOW ABOUT THIS GUY? STRAT WILL HAVE TO PAY A TEAM A COUPLE OF MILL JUST TO HAVE HIM ON THE ROSTER. HA
ACTUALLY, TO BE FAIR HE DID HAVE AN OUTSTANDING YEAR ON DEFENSE AT THIRD, PLAYED SOME 2B, AND HIT OVER .300 VS LEFT. HE WILL HAVE SOME VALUE

2 of my favorite 2002 players were Pat Burrel and Maglio Ordonez. Burrel dissapeared for 2 years but look for a come back in next years set. Mags was good in 03' but was bad this year and will be bad next year.

They will never give Jeter a 1 at SS. Strat hates Jeter. I don't know how they can't with his 2nd straight gold glove. He will be $7-$8 million next year with a 2. If he is by chance a 1 then put him at $9-$10 mil.
