I'm trying to make an extremley good hitting team and I think I've done a pretty good job of it

Hitters are good. Playing two "4"'s not great, but what the heck, as long as they can hit. I would just concentrate $$$ spent for backups on C & 3B, rather than Kapler & Bako. Pitching-wise, I would rather have three cheap guys like Cook, Walker & Thomson to go with Byrd & Westbrook, or even four cheap guys and Byrd. For relief, I would rather concentrate the relief $$$ on set up guys like Orvella, DeJean or Walker, rather than unbalanced guys. You need quanity from a Coors bullpen and specialists are the least likely to supply quality quanity IMO.

Dwight - Nice! Why not play all the way to your park and lose Polonco for another banger at 3B? Blalock would save you some payroll and give you a little more protection to the RH hitters in your lineup... I love Edmonds in Coors, better than Wells, who simply blows vs RHP. Edmonds would give you a little kryptonite vs Santana and the other reverse LHP (if you can work it, payrollwise.

Your bench. Why none of the cheap BPHR guys? One huge advantage in Coors is that you can spot a guy like Thames at DH and use the payroll to help elsewhere.

Totally agree with DJ's comments about your pitching staff. Your pitching staff is way too unbalanced. That approach can work in the extreme parks but it's a dicey proposition in Coors.

I like the pitching better, and on offense I released polanco and picked up Glaus to get some more money for pitching. This team is going to have 10 homers every day.

I should have made Michael my manager and made Dwight my assistant TO the manager.

About Edmonds, I'd rather spend the money elswhere and keep Wells since they pretty much play the same defense and will give me the same amount of HR's, and Wells will be almost as good as edmonds vs. santana.

Unfortunately, you won't hit even three HR's per game. If you did, you would hit 100 or so more HR than anyone else has hit this year. If you got one of the few power hitting CF, you might give 400 HR a run though. Check out my "In search of 400 HR" post in the strategy section for some pitchers that are OK in a bomber park. Come to think of it, not too many of my pitchers are doing OK.

I don't really expect to hit 10, but 2-3 seems reasonable, I'll check out that 400 Hr thing, thanks.

I'd keep Polanco...you need a leadoff hitter and I bet he hits 20 for you Coors.

Someone had a thread here earlier about the law of diminishing returns in respect to Home Runs vs Runs scored. Wish I could find it now. It's a nice lineup, it remains to be seen with the staff and the defense if it translates into wins. Best of luck in your quest. Both Durantjerry and I are in the league, so we'll be watching. 8)
