Imagine hitting .306 with 48 HR and 121 RBI, a 1.013 OPS, and not even being hinted at as being in contention for 1st team or 2nd team honors!! Amazing indeed! That gives you an indication of how impressive the hitters in 1988 really were. :shock:

Oh, geez....my intention was to make him the DH of the 2nd team. But by the time I got around to the DH, I forgot about him. Sorry about that, Sean. But you are correct that 1988 was a HUGE year for stat mongers....both hitting and pitching. Too bad none of it was for my Fatboys :cry:

He was a little weak the last month of the season, but they are your awards and Ricky did have a fine season.

Had I not gone with a 5 man rotation most of the year Sutcliffe and Viola could have won 20, and I'm not sure it's Rick's 84 card. He had a rough 2nd half.

No arguments about Rice from me. For every reason I think Rickey should be MVP, I'm sure you can think of a reason Rice should be MVP. And Rebel could probably think of why Big Mac should've won too (although Rickey is his guy too, so he shouldn't be too upset :wink: )

And let me say again, Glenn Davis IS ABSOLUTELY an All-Star in my book. Just forgot to include him :oops: :oops: My apologies to Sean for that oversight.

Been so busy that so many of my teams across so many of the TSN products have all gone to shite.

I stopped doing that ages ago, its been one of the keys to my recent success, the less I meddle, the better my teams do. If Hal puts the right guys at the right positions, I'll even go without setting lineups, it works like a charm.

I only need to step in when Hal puts Carew at 2B or sits Ozzie and plays Gaetti at SS, which are two of his favorite moves.

I dealt Mattingly and Boggs to get Brett.

Mattingly's numbers for albert:

.318, 44 runs, 20 2bs, 16 HRs, 62 RBI's, .591 SLU, .387 OBP in 69 games.

Brett's numbers for me:

.295, 36 runs, 16 2bs, 8 HRs, 43 RBI's, .453 SLU, .391 OBP in 65 games.

I was convinced I had Mattingly's worst card and clearly I was wrong! Has to be in the running for the worst trade in the decade.

But if I get Brett's 1980 card next year, all will be forgiven. :D

Yeah it gives me some hope for 89 as that was my 89 lines up with Whitt. I lose Rice, Winfield, Whitt and Sutcliffe for 89. I hope there are some quality replacements out there.

BC, there is not reason not to start 1989 because there is no rookie draft.
