Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck in this league

I can't remember in my other 15 teams that I've had as many twist and turns as I've had this season.

My end of season roster looks nothing like my opening day roster -

O.Smith SS
R.Henderson CF
L.Whitaker 2B [b:c5cda70a91](If I could, I would have canned him)[/b:c5cda70a91]
D.Parker RF [b:c5cda70a91](gone early)[/b:c5cda70a91]
H.Johnson 3B [b:c5cda70a91] (gone early)[/b:c5cda70a91]
J.Kruk 1B [b:c5cda70a91](injured 15 games and replaced by Hargrove - injured!) [/b:c5cda70a91]
L.Polonia PR,LF
G.Davis DH
Luzinski LF,1B (despite one of his better cards, he couldn't hit)
Harrah PR [b:c5cda70a91](worse card possible - gone. Doing well for someone else)[/b:c5cda70a91]
Oliver 1B [b:c5cda70a91](gone)[/b:c5cda70a91]
Hassey C [b:c5cda70a91](gone)[/b:c5cda70a91]
Wynegar [b:c5cda70a91](gone)[/b:c5cda70a91]

Reuss [b:c5cda70a91](gone early)[/b:c5cda70a91]
Gossage [b:c5cda70a91](gone early)[/b:c5cda70a91]
Howe [b:c5cda70a91](gone early)[/b:c5cda70a91]

Otherwise, the team had been a dozen games over .500 near the all-star break only to drop from the sky during the back turn.

Un-fricking-believable!

Semper, your team really did head south after the all-star break. The 4 teams in the east have all been good this year (semper still has more runs scored than allowed). Looks like Hak might sneak in to the playoffs with a barely above .500 team in the Central. Hopefully he won't make a Cardinals-like run to the World Championship.

I think I over-pitched J.H. Johnson. After starting out 11-1 with a 2.13 ERA he's gone 1-3 with a 12.06 ERA in his last 5 starts.

If there was a god, Jay Tibbs wouldn't be 11-3 with a 3.55 ERA in the Kingdome using his 1987 card.

[quote:3811832b39="BC Manager"]...and I'll be pissed if I end up with the 3rd best record in the league and miss the playoff! :x[/quote:3811832b39]

BC...you would have won the Central Division...ummm...if you were in the Central Division.

It happens...it sucks...but it happens. Better luck down the line...

Poor Fernando

He had a whip near .90 for the entire season despite the crap luck that HAL gave me

Of course, he had two games to pitch and I figured to let him go at it.

Well ... just like the season .... he gets hammered both times despite being the best pitcher in the league.

What is it HAL - didn't I spend enough this season?

[quote:bc579733c3]4 teams to make the playoffs get 2 credits each, winner gets 4 more (6 total) and runner up gets 2 more (4 total).
[/quote:bc579733c3]

And so the battle to win Penn's credits has ended and the winners are:

Champion - Jimmy_C
Runner up - ccangerame
Playoff team - Yellow_Dog
Playoff team - Hakmusic

Thanks a ton Doug and hope you'll try out the new back to the 70's game with us when things settle down.

Wow Jimmy you win this league and now you have a 9 game win streak in March Madness. If you are not careful you might never have to buy a credit again.
