Round 7 standings update - Leagues 1-7 complete

Postby teepack » Sun Dec 10, 2006 9:12 am

Here are the top 25 with leagues 1 - 7 complete in round 7. This update includes dropping the lowest score for managers who played in six or seven rounds.

Kaviksdad parlayed a World Series title in round 7 into the final playoff spot. Nobody who is in the final league (No. 8) can catch kaviksdad, so it appears that the Champions League lineup is set!

One potential finalist took a major tumble in round 7. Bthnybchbm was in 12th heading into the last event, but his team won only 77 games. Because he played in all seven events, he was forced to keep the score since he had already dropped a team with only 76 wins, so he dropped into 25th place.

Cummings parylayed a World Series win in round 7 and SteveP parlayed a division title and World Series runner-up finish to each move into the top 10.

Kangawomby is now the dude on the bubble, and his seventh-round team is a disaster. He'll likely drop this score, but that means he'll have to count an earlier score that he dropped, which will likely knock him out of the top 12.

Uncleny, the defending champ, has moved into 14th place with a wild-card showing in event 7. He'll need some help to get a shot at defending his crown.

I will end the regular season with 100.7...

My 103.6 after six rounds includes a dropped 86. I competed in round 7 and got a 74. I will obviously drop the 74. So adding the 86 back in to my scores drops my average to 100.7.

Good luck to the ones scrambling...

I'm just hoping that my 99 can hang on for a spot in the championships.

Hi Teepack,

Have you included the scores for teams in League 7, Round 1? I'm guessing not, because if you had, I think my score should improve to 100.2 which puts me in seventh spot at the moment.

Kind regards,

Steve

teepack,

Wasn't there a league last year for the 2nd 12? (teams ranked 13th thru 24th) Is that a possibility for this year?

I think somebody put together a Second 12 league last year. It's totally voluntary, so go for it if you want.

I [b:a77290964c][u:a77290964c]still[/u:a77290964c][/b:a77290964c] think that the rule should [b:a77290964c][u:a77290964c]NOT[/u:a77290964c][/b:a77290964c] have been changed from 250 IP, but there is nothing I can do about it, especially since it was impossible for me to keep the RP from avoiding 200 IP.

Not that I was expecting to finish top 12 in any case, as I had only signed on as a filler originally, but at I know I could have been in there if HAL hadnt decided to give my RP a ton of innings in the last week of the season (when you cannot drop an RP). :)

For what it's worth, I agree with AT. It's a bogus, reactionary rule. All we can do to control reliever usage is tick a few boxes, and then we are at the mercy of HAL. Sure people used to game it somewhat, but the Super Reliever era is over. Let's move beyond it.
