Mop up question

Can you use a starter without any relief as a mop up pitcher?

You can mark him that way, but I don't think it'll actually do it. Never tried it though, so can't say for 100% sure.

ive seen it happen in the 2005 game twice.....but i cant remember specifics...

I wouldn't set the mop-up man to not come in before the 7th or 8th. You want him coming into the games that get out of hand early. Maybe doing this is why some people here have complained that it ends up using the mop-up man in non-"mop-up" situations? :idea:

Thanks, I have been using fassaro as mop up. he has not done too bad. He has been coming in when my starter has a bad game. I like the idea of having a mop up in later innings. Maybe try both (of course with cheaper pitchers) in a couple of games to see if there could be two moppers in one game 8)
