How do I activate S6/R3 pitchers?

I have Jeremi Gonzalez on my roster right now. I would like him to face some righthanded batters every once in a while. Why doesn't HAL put him in? Through 45 games, he's faced a grand total of 2 batters. I had Schilling once and the same thing happened. He ended up throwing around 10 innings the whole season. On the flipside, when I've had Wandy Rodriguez, he gets thrown into action all the time. I don't get it. Gonzalez is not listed in my rotation and is obviously not starting any games. Most S6/R3 types not in your rotation will automatically pitch in the pen and function as a part of your relief corps--why won't Gonzalez?

can't help ya, but I to have had Wandy Rodriguez overused while other relievers have pitched under 20 innings.

What are the settings for Gonzalez? How many relievers to you have and what are their settings?

I have 6 other relievers...2 are loaded for bear, one is on a quick hook, 3 are quick hook/max 1-2 inn/avoid L or R. Gonzalez is also on a quick hook/max 1-2/avoid L. This hasn't mattered in the past. Going back to the W. Rodriguez example, I always set him for quick hook/avoid L/max 1-2. He still gets a lot of innings. Other S6/R3 guys have done the same with these settings and this type of bullpen.

Fogg is another one that Hal likes to use. 40-50 innings so far.

On the same team, Schilling has pitched 2 innings.

I swear HAL had a different approach in regard to bullpen use with 2006 cards. The inly solution I could come up with was to get Heilman and abuse him. HAL seemed okay with the stid relievers.

I never won jack though (2006 cards that is). Two playoff appearances is all I could obtain.
