How Rare is a Triple Crown?

How Rare is a Triple Crown?

I had Derrek Lee go .358, 70 HR, 178 RBI in US Cellular to snag a Triple Crown.

I'm trying to get a sense as to this being a significant accomplishment, or is this rather commonplace.

Thanks.

Lee in Minute Maid.... .358 avg, 58 hrs, 155 rbi's for the Triple Crown and MVP. Also led the league in runs (120), hits (226), slugging (.707) and OBP (.431).

BoDean, I would rate the accomplishment as uncommon- not rare or common place.

If I remember correctly it was a close race for homers/RBI's and average-he won the homer title on the last day.

62 HR's, 170 RBI's and a .307 AVG

I had good luck with 2005 Bonds...7 triple crowns (all at Coors) in 13 teams...3 championships as well...

Here's one typical season (with 2nd place in parenthesis):

BA .380 (.351)
HR 92 (60)
RBI 202 (150)

the one time I didn't get him in the draft, he won the TC with an off-the-charts season (.411 BA, 227 RBI)...

much maligned, but what an awesome card...

Uncommon sounds good to me, as it's not easy by any means, but there are a decent number of guys who could do it in the right park and/or league.
