I am in a quandry. I am not sure whether to get rid of Alou and replace him with Lamb as DH in my team. Currently I have Alou 6th or 7th vs LHP and 4th vs RHP. I am facing mostly RHP in my division with a more even split along the whole league. My park is Yankee stadium and other parks in my division are Shea, Fenway and BOB.

Lamb has better BP figures both sides, whilst Alou is more right balanced. Lamb is LHB, Alou is RHB. Alou has better Hit and Ob chances and just better TB as well. I am confused! It is a very close call in my mind. Icould do without the 20% hit but need advice.

IMHO,

I'd go with Lamb BUT, I'd also need to see your lineup.

Why Lamb? Any particular reason?

Go with Lamb. Alou has NEVER performed for me. I can't stand the guy!

I am playing in a righthanded batter-friendly park (Wrigley), which probably helps explain things, but I've been very underwhelmed by Lamb, who I've got starting at 1B. After 147 games, Lamb's numbers are as follows:

..............AVG.....OBP.....SLG
vs.RHP....252......309.....415
vs.LHP.....254......292....492

Not bad slugging, but for 4.71 mil I sure was expecting more from him...it isn't as though his defense is stellar or anything. And there are no other righthanded batter-friendly parks in my division or league. So my opinion is don't look to Lamb for terribly much.

hechojazz-

You've played almost 81 games in a non-friendly park towards lefties.
Lamb has alot of BPHR's that turn to outs. Of course he won't hit to his card.

If you want power, decent OB and your park is friendly to lefties, Lamb is your guy.
Especially w/ a Shea in your division.

just my $.02, but if you are considering Lamb, his injury potential should be part of the equation.

The injury potential is what I thought of originally. Lamb only has 250+ AB's compared to 600 or so for Alou so could get injured a bit I suppose.

As far as I know I am facing 12 RHP in my division, 3LHP. League wide it is 22RHP to 19 LHP, I think. Now, who is it to be? Lamb, Alou or Anyone else? What about Morneau? Strong vs RH but weak vs LH
