on these 6 mil+ players in 06. I have drafted 29 teams and none of these players have graced my roster.......

Hitters:
Roberts
B.Giles
Ellis
Vlad(?)
Abreu
Berkman
Konerko
Winn
Crawford

Pitchers:
Pedro
Zambrano
Willis
Johnson
Smoltz
Peavy
Carpenter(?)

And no relief pitcher more expensive than Nathan.

Just an observation :)

Hitters:
Roberts - Never had him either. $ better spent elsewhere
B.Giles - Was on plenty of teams. One of my favorites
Ellis - Never had him. (see Roberts)
Vlad(?) - Nope, not here either.
Abreu - Had him two times. Shame on me for having him the 2nd time
Berkman - Nope, trend here is never spend big $ on 15 game guys.
Konerko - Had him two or three times. I was happy with results.
Winn - One or two teams. Get Crisp here and save the $2.
Crawford - Not one time.

Pitchers:
Pedro - Never. Overpriced
Zambrano - (see Pedro)
Willis - One time. Did great for me. Learned to rank him 1st or not at all
Johnson - (see Pedro and Zambrano)
Smoltz - Had him on 1 or 2 teams, cant recall the results so can't be too bad
Peavy - One time, on a present Petco team. Moyer is outpitching him
Carpenter - One time, on a present MM team. Wish I spent the $ on another hitter.

So looks like we think alike for the most part. Only two or three guys I wouldn't hesitate putting on my team, that be Giles, Konerko, and Willis. For me personally, it's hard justifying spending anything over $4 on a hitter that can get that 15 gamer, at least in an $80 league. The cost of such an injury is normally a quick seat in the stands come playoff time.

all other hitters appeared less than 10 times (by chance, I expect to see a name to appear at least 10 times out of the 120 best teams, so the other players did appear as a burden weight on the overall team).

Zambrano can dominate in a way Smoltz can't, in my opinion, in the right stadium (low hr), with the right defense (to compensate for the numerous walks).

Aray has it right. Which parks do you usually play in and what complementary players do you like.

Hitters:
Roberts - rarely had, too much $$
B.Giles - love the OB for a MM team
Ellis - used him a lot lately for OB in front of SLG
Vlad(?) - couldn't get him, gave up trying
Abreu - See Vlad
Berkman - great success playing at 1B
Konerko - had once, sucked
Winn - on every petco/jacobs team I had. #3 hitter
Crawford - never had, nothing vs left.

Pitchers:
Pedro - had a couple of times, always gave up too many HR
Zambrano - rarely used
Willis - used once, looked at for Ameriquest, went lower $$
Johnson - used a couple of times, liked
Smoltz - never ever
Peavy - ok
Carpenter(?) - must have for MM

Konerko is well worth the money at MM or US Cell. Carpenter & Smoltz are solid at MM. Johnson & Willis were good at PNC.

Roberts is simply too much coin for a secondbaseman!

Hitters:
Roberts - love him in pitchers parks. With the def, and all those tb's vs R
B.Giles - Underperformed for me everywhere except Coors.
Ellis - never used.
Vlad(?) - couldn't get him, gave up trying
Abreu - Underperformed every time I used him
Berkman - 50/50, sometimes awesome, other times, not
Konerko - had twice, good obp and hr's, low Ba
Winn - I agree, Crisp is the same thing for $2 cheaper
Crawford - Used once, got nothing in return

Pitchers:
Pedro - in pitchers parks, always a grerat use.
Zambrano - In pitchers parks or MM, always performed very well for me
Willis - Never able to get
Johnson - used once, never again
Smoltz - used 3 times, never again. I can get the same stats from J Johnson
Peavy - never could get
Carpenter(?) - must have for MM, agree on this

Had Konerko once, won championship.
Had Abreu twice, made playoffs both times and he was stellar.
Had Crawford once, terrible.
Had Vlad once, he was OK when healthy, but team was awful.
Never had any of the Ps ... I tend to spend less on pitching than others.

Abreu does best for me, batting in any of the top three spots. Had him in SAFECO and Coors. Also have him on a 20-team NetPlay keeper league SAFECO team. Got him with 19th pick in 3rd round and couldn't be happier.

Hitters:
Roberts - never
B.Giles - once in Coors..did fine, just alot of $$ for a DH with no power
Ellis - 1 or 2 times...love the card, hate the injury
Vlad(?) - never
Abreu - never..just did not like his card this year
Berkman - 2 times...once great in petco, once so-so in coors
Konerko - once...as above lots of HRS and OBP, poor avg.
Winn - 2 times in small park. Love him there with all the natural doubles
Crawford - never...just too expensive for what you get

Pitchers:
Pedro - once in petco, disappointing
Zambrano - same as pedro
Willis - only once in coors..was awesome! could never get him again
Johnson - never crossed my mind to take him!
Smoltz - once in MM...terrible and dropped him
Peavy - twice..IMHO the best value of all the starters this year
Carpenter(?) - once in MM...see Smoltz
