I Hate Nate -- What happens now?

I was riding a 12 game winning streak and lost my MVP Hafner, which I expected, and Nate Robertson, one of my 10 game winners, which I hadn't.

I'm using a 4 SP* Rotation and I have one scrub .50 SP. When I try to set up my per game starters my .50 SP doesn't have enough rest to pitch again. Will he be used anyway or do I need to pick up another SP?

Appreciate the feedback. This is only my second season and my pitching staff held together last go-round. I'm definitely going to plan better next season. Thanks.

You can pick up another pitcher, or let HAL select a relief pitcher to start for you. I feel your pain, Robertson, 15 gamer for me last night as well. Daniel Cabrera will cover.....

Thanks leehaak. This should be interesting to watch.

Good luck with your injuries as well.

With four stars and one scrub, the damage should be minimal. The three guys and your scrub go, followed by the three * starters again. Then HAL will put in a relief pitcher, followed again by your four healthy starters, and then your three * starters. Basically, 1 or 2 starts even if the injury is 15 games, so the damage is kept limited, except of course for those starts from your .50 scrub.

I'm curious as to what experience other players have had in these circumstances. I've never had a starter get hurt, where HAL didn't miraculously compensate by having other starters suddenly pitch complete games. I had a team in '05 in which a starter got hurt for 15 games and K-rod ended up starting the next three outings. K-Rod was phenomenal in those outings (winning twice) and the team went 10-5 or so during the stretch. And every other starter seemingly embodied the ghost of Iron Man McGinnity the whole time. They started reeling off complete games left and right. Plus K-Rod pitched seven innings in a start and then was back to his super-reliever status as soon as the other pitcher was healthy a game later. K-Rod started because I had a five-man rotation, so no other eligible starters were available. I'll see if I can find a link.
