No hitters and the 6th. inning...

Postby visick » Sat Jan 27, 2007 9:17 am

What is it with the 6th. inning?

It seems as though most of the time in Strat, no hitters get broken up in the 6th. inning.

I've had 3 games recently, 2 in the 2006 game and last night in the 70's game, where the 6th. inning ended the no hit bid.

Confused...

Who was pitching? Was there a fatigue factor involved?

splinter...

It just seems as though every time I have a no hitter, no matter who the SP is or what their fatigue factor is, the no hitter ends in the 6th.

Pretty hard to get fatigued if you are pitching a no hitter...unless you are walking alot of guys!

Tell me about it Mike...

The other night in the 70's game, Eckersely had a no hitter going, only walking 2 batters through 5 innings. The no-hitter was broken up in the 6th...as usual.

yeah but...in 06 Bautista could easily be in the 6th with a no-no and give up an error and a walk and get yanked.

And again last night, from the 70's game...

"Ray Burris carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Candlestick Park where
the The Polyester Leisure Suits beat the Monterey Jacks by the score of 6 to 3".

Not that it proves anything but Burris is a 6 inning guy and his 70's cards aren't the model for potential no-no's.

Very true splinter... :)

It's just something that I've been seeing alot...

A no hitter broken up in the 6th. inning.

Multiple examples from my experience in ATG/ATG III, 80's, 70's, '69 and the more contemporary versions of the game.

Just wonder what happens in the 6th inning... :?
