AM-NAT FINAL DRAFT (what will the next wrinkle be?)

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

Next steps

If possible, I would like to finalize the divisions.

Drafting: I know in a lot of leagues they post their picks in the thread, then go to autodraft. However, all our picks are pretty much protected. Unless everyone is worried about mistakes being made (and I really yhink we can fix any mistakes early on, if they are any), I propose we get the divisions squared, then assign someone in the EAST to create the league and PM password to everyone else. Then we can fill CENTRAL, and so on.

I gotta tell ya, there's some very interesting combos here. I feel like my own team has a definite personality (we're powerful, slow, have good IF D, not so good OF D, and some workhorse pitchers). You never know how things are gonna go, but I avoided putting my team in the west because of billings' LA/TOR combo. Only problem you're gonna have, ballers, is cap room! (and yeah, I feel so sorry for you having to find places for Orel, Fernando, Stieb, and Henke).

Anybody already contemplating a blockbuster trade? (speaking of, is that why you wanna do the draft here? To take care of any trades?)

Speak to me, my people!

Divisions

Postby honestiago1 » Sat Nov 12, 2005 7:50 pm

So far. Either of the first two central teams could slide EAST. Adamphoenix seems to me a dead-set CENTRAL team. If sogocommando goes with BOS, he's the last east team. If Rich Swerb goes OAK, he's in the west. His probable second team is ATL, more of an EAST team than anything else.

There may be some sliding about the present CENTRAL teams.

Jablowmi - NY (Yankee Stadium) (NY Expos) EAST
Genevajack- Philadelphia (Orioles) EAST
Roofinghorse- the new york white sox (shea stadium)new york *my
favorite name of the bunch*

honestiago - Detroit (Detroit Giants) CENTRAL
LMBombers- Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh Injuns) CENTRAL
adamphoenix - CENTRAL makes sense (either MINN or HOU)

Billings Ballers - Los Angeles (The LA Blue Jays of Toronto) WEST
MoCrash- WEST (either STL or CAL)

STILL TO COME:
YellowDog - either CENTRAL or WEST
sogocomando - Team either in EAST (BOS) or CENTRAL (CHC)
bigdinkent - EAST or CENTRAL
Rich Swerb - WEST or either of other two

I'm second in the East. Once the rest of the division is set, I'll forward the password. Great stuff.

The Philadelphia O's team personality

Postby genevajack » Sat Nov 12, 2005 8:41 pm

Earl would smile.

High OBP and lots of power. (S/B about 220-240 Hrs out of this bunch)

Pitchers-your garden variety Oriole staff with Steve Carlton thrown in for good measure.

I DO NOT have a 3B

Postby honestiago1 » Sat Nov 12, 2005 8:53 pm

I have several 4e30+'s to masquerade there, and Brookens to bring off the bench, but no 3B.

After the draft, I will have some good bast available for a decent 3B (Darrell Evans and Steve Kemp are two names I can move).

I am currently stuck with either Chili Davis or Jeff Leonard in CF. My OF is full of 3's, save for leonard and sheridan.

HOWEVER, I could go with an IF of W Clark, Whitaker, Trammell and Darrell Evans (4e37) and DH Jack Clark. Gibson in LF or Kemp.

To help with the divisions ... whoever I get from the NL (Atl/SD) ... I'm going to use their park, NOT Oaklands.

St. Louis Angels, will play in Busch. Can go Central or West.

For the sake of simplicity, I took Texas franchise player (Petralli) for 2nd C. If an eligible STL-CAL C frees up after waivers, I'll try to pick him up; if not, I don't see any other options.

Divisions look a little more clear now

Postby honestiago1 » Sat Nov 12, 2005 10:16 pm

I am using a map to determine these things.

EAST
Jablowmi - NY Expos (Yankee Stadium)
Genevajack- Philadelphia Orioles (Veterans Stadium)
Roofinghorse- NY White Sox (Shea Stadium)

CENTRAL
honestiago - Detroit Giants (Tiger Stadium)
LMBombers- Pittsburgh Indians (Three Rivers Stadium) (goes east, if sog chooses CHC as home park)
YellowDog - MIL or CIN

WEST
Billings Ballers - LABT (The LA Blue Jays of Toronto) (Dodger Stadium)
MoCrash- St. Louis Angels (Busch Stadium)
adamphoenix - MINN or HOU (could shift to CENTRAL)

STILL TO COME:
sogocomando - Team either in EAST (BOS) or CENTRAL (CHC)
bigdinkent - WEST (SD) or CENTRAL (MIL, ATL)
Rich Swerb - WEST (SD) or CENTRAL (ATL, if BOS is in play)

Sog is going to give us another hitter's park.
Rich will give us either Murphy or Atlanta Fulton County (another ripper's park)
bigdink's park will be decent of hitters
If adam goes with HOU, the WEST will be the place fly balls go to die (mostly)
