[quote:6a114902f6]Because adamphoenix evidently had an ironclad contract with God to be in the CENTRAL, I have moved my team from DET to SF. [/quote:6a114902f6]

Well, Honest being named Adam, I am God's child.

But actually, I apologize to you and the rest of this league. When I saw that you moved me, I flipped out. I apologize for that, this is no excuse, but one of the reasons is my 7 month old son has bronchitis so I haven't been getting much sleep lately.

I know your going to pull your hair out, but I will move to the West, and if possible I'd like to chahnge my stadium from the Metrodome to the Astrodome, and become the Houston Twins.

Again, I apologizes for my outburst yesterday, and hopefully you can forgive me. So please, let me move to the West, as you had rightfully (being commissioner) decided.

[quote:ccc79fcb75="MoCrash"]Thanks, LM. If you assure me you won't draft Lavalliere, I'll put him on my AD list.[/quote:ccc79fcb75]

He's all yours! I think I am going to draft Ron Hassey instead.

Don't worry about it

Postby honestiago1 » Sun Nov 13, 2005 10:40 am

If you want MINN and the CENTRAL, that's fine. SF may hurt my hitters, but it helps my pitchers. You can also have HOU and be in the central, as well.

Don't worry about my sarcasm. If you want the CENTRAL, take the CENTRAL. Hell, let's BOTH go west, and send STL to the CENTRAL! :D

First, it is not fair to you, to have you move your team to the West. I'll move.

Second, in the words of Horace Greeley (please dear g-d tell me I'm not the only one who remembers this guy from elementary school)...GO WEST, young man...GO WEST.

Seriously, if you want us both to go, then let's both go...otherwise, you should resort to what you originally wanted. I feel like a total ass right now, and horrible over what I did.

I don't think anyone really has a problem with anything you said, Adam. I think we were all kind of surprised your were so adamant about it since most of us don't really care that much about divisional assignments. If this were a theme league based on salary, it might make a difference. However, with this theme, division assignment doesn't inherently matter -- except as to how individual teams match up, which it's difficult to now ascertain before the draft.

I remember Horace Greeley. He was the Democratic candidate for President in 1872. He lost to U.S. Grant who entered into his second term as President.

End of the History lesson for today! 8)

Interesting that Greeley, the publisher of the N.Y. World, was actually a radical Republican who got the Democratic nomination by default after all the other candidates had withdrawn. Tilden would be beaten by Hayes in 1876, in a disputed election -- not much different than the 2000 election -- and Garfield would beat Winfield Scott Hancock in 1880, giving the Republicans 24 years of uninterrupted control of the White House from Lincoln's succession of Buchanan in 1860 to Cleveland's victory in 1884 (although Andrew Johnson was only nominally a Republican; he was, in reality, a War Democrat).

Sorry, Civil War buff.
