Vets vs. Rooks league chat

The intent of that league is to lighten up the political discussion, not worsen it, but I hear ya, robvoz.

I'm thinking eggplant for the main color theme of my uniform. I'm a little color blind, though. Is that, like, dark blue? It's not? Yes it is. It is. 'Tis so. Dont argue with me . . .

:D

Well, here goes nothing. Hardly seems fair, would you take a look
at Penngrays' manager rating !! The season opener for my Ashby
Disco Balls and I have to play against the Legend that is Penngray.
Hope everyone enjoys the 70's, because Petco will play nothing but
70's Disco Hits at all home games. Tonight the first 20,000 fans will
receive a free copy of the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack...on Vinyl !
Here's hoping to a good season, again I would consider hovering
around .500 a success with this group !! I'm going to crack open the
champagne in the locker room if I win just 1 of the first 3, how's that
for setting the bar low ? :? Watch...I'll get swept :(

Good Luck everyone.

Personally I find Robo's fashion statements particularily inspiring, I won't say what they inspire me to do, but they are inspiring. Afterall we have to remeber that Robo did loose his handle on the crossover
-------
I'm not particularily into politics but what really caught me of charlie's league is the whole concept of team playing, of team strategies, limiting the pool of players and setting it up in a way that is challenging for both teams...sounds like fun to me.
-------
Well, I checked in here too late, I was going to offer D-T a trade for Burke but I just saw he went ahead and dropped Kendall...some other time I guess.

You know Jeff, maybe I woke up with half my brain missing but all day long I kept thinking that I wanted to play Penn tonight...I don't know, it's like itches to go one on one with him, it's either that or the phobia I am getting of playing et, stoney and Ty...at least with penn I can always say "well it IS master penn you know"

I ended up making some last minute changes, Rolen kept calling for me, he kept saying he wanted to be a little red riding hood and at first I thought he was just kinky but then I realized he was available and as much as I like Eric Chavez I just had to make the move...helped me allocate some of the xtra funds I had in pitching back in the offense. We'll see. To be perfectly honest I have spent most of my initial learning devoted to pitching and defense, only recently I started trying to understand better how to build the offense. Pitching wise I'm getting by but offense...jeez...I almost always end up in the top 4 best pitching staffs and in the bottom 4 hitting staffs. We'll see how it goes with this team.
-----

As eagerly as I am waiting to see how badly the comish beat me in tonight's game I am a bit more into following my second trip to the finals, I've sqandered a 3-1 lead and tonight is game 7...wish me luck guys! I know that for all of you going to the finals is almost like going to the dentist but for a green-pea like myself it's quite the ocasion.

Never fear Cummings, my teams traditionally start out slowly. I'm sure your team will fare quite nicely tonight. My boys love to let the opponents build up a false sense of confidence before ET comes through and squashs all of our dreams.

In Fact, here are Davis' stats through the playoffs:

3W 0L 25IP .72ERA 1.00 WHIP

Not bad from your No. 3 starter huh?

Congrats on your Championship !

Maybe you'd better see if you can work a deal with Jaguares and
get Doug Davis on your squad, he may be your "lucky" charm.

I'm sitting here at work hitting refresh evey 5 minutes waiting for
our first night results, what a nervous time it is !!

I too must congratulate you on your championship. Nothing like winning a title heading into this league to give a rook' some credibility, eh?

Thanks guys, Ty was so kind that he even let me sweep him to open the season what a 8) comish we have.

JD is the one that gives credibility to the rooks, me I just follow along his path.

Here's the link to the team
