YIKES (AGAIN)!!! SHIFTING SANDS -- Dose #2

Postby modmark46 » Tue Feb 13, 2007 11:15 am

You really have to be VERY careful when selecting a player now. I scan the list of players taken two or even three times, to make sure the guy I am thinking of isn't taken. Had to go through the list FOUR times last night, because the first three guys I wanted to stick Foggy with were taken. Time consuming and an eye strain, but there it is. Wish there was an easier way to see who's been taken. :?

I am happy with Rizzouto. He will DH versus LHP. Maybe even both ways as an opposite batter. Big deal that I keep ted Williams for 1/3 of season. Either that or carry Phil R. on the bench and keep Williams all year (praying for injuries to both my Nickel SS).

Maybe bench Rizouto for 1/3 so I can keep Williams for 2/3? I LOVE this game.

hmmmm what to do?

Thank You.

A big reason I gave him to you was to PUT you in that decision making dilemma. It's not that he's not a decent player, but to me, his biggest plus is his defense, which is no good to you in our division. He has good speed and on base, but is he worth it to you to actually use him and lose a better offensive player? Hmmm... :P

This is why EVERYONE lines up to play Shifting Sands.

I agree on on Downing. with his "3" rating, he would be great for a LH favorable park as a two-way opposite hitter. If he is in a RH HR park, he is still good but not as tasty.

Speaking of DHing, I know I asked this many moons ago, but I forgot what the answer was. In order to be protected from a required drop, does a player have to DH EVERY game? Example - I have Ruth and Cobb. Must Ruth DH every game in order to be considered my DH, and therefore protected from the drop? Or, is it just whomever DHs the most? Say Ruth DHs for 17 games and Cobb 16 games. Is Ruth still protected as my DH from the dreaded required drop?

Let's hope DocTax checks back in today. He stated he's swamped with tax season. Suppose he doesn't check back in until late tonight, or even tomorrow, since he already made his 1st stick pick? He doesn't realize (yet) that he needs to re-do that selection.

hey, is it THAT big a deal to get skipped or delayed on your stick pick? there's plenty of trash to go around, did owners EARN a higher spot in the "peckering order" by spending less, or was it more likely, dumb luck?!

Where's Downing going to play on Margie's team? Dickey's catching. He's a lefty and a "1". Replacing him w/ Downing will be impossible, even if he wanted to. And Gehrig's got a firm hold on DH.

Am I missing something?
