Perfect Petco team??

Perfect Petco team??

Postby bigmahon » Sat Feb 17, 2007 1:26 pm

I have won my share of divisions, but I don't remember dominating one quite this badly. Imagine my record if I had bothered to find someone even a little bit more effective than Kris Benson as my 5th SP.

Anything jump out at you with this team? Incidentally, I always try for 4 *SPs at Petco, so the fact that I used Duke tells you I didn't get them.

Hey Big,

I was surprised at the # of Homers you hit for a petco team. I always figured Murton would be a waste at Petco due to his BPHR, but it seems as if he worked out well for you.

Nice record

Postby pcbaseballsims » Sun Feb 18, 2007 12:17 pm

I won div handily made playoffs in '69 lg with 4 SP*s but in '06 I'll go with 5 man rot NO SP*'s! Too expen$ive! I'll reinvest $avings in deep pen, def.

Hey [b:cbcfcdf6f8]Bodie[/b:cbcfcdf6f8], I started winning at Petco when I prioritized SLG relative to OBP. I just wasn't doing well until I started drafted A. Jones and Tony Clark every time.

[b:cbcfcdf6f8]InfoCzar[/b:cbcfcdf6f8], good point. I happen to be in love with a handful of *SPs for Petco, and none of them are the big money guys. I will take [b:cbcfcdf6f8]Willis[/b:cbcfcdf6f8], [b:cbcfcdf6f8]Smoltz[/b:cbcfcdf6f8], [b:cbcfcdf6f8]Zito[/b:cbcfcdf6f8], and [b:cbcfcdf6f8]Vazquez [/b:cbcfcdf6f8]every time.

Hey big,

What other parks were in your division?

FWIW-Maddux also makes a nice #4 SP in Petco.

Well, lost in the semis in 5 games. HAL went a bit mental and pulled Zito in the midst of a 2 hit shutout, presumably because Zito had the audacity to issue a walk with one out in the 7th. Should be OK though, 'cause its my stud RP Carrasco to the rescue, right? Wrong. HAL let's Carrasco (set to slow hook) pitch 2/3 of an inning, then turns it over to my cheapie RPs to blow the lead. Madness I tell ya, madness.

Congrats to Jerlins though, a great manager who beat my juggernaut with an 85 win team.

Thanks Big. Just another example of why we need a 7 game Semis.
