Hot off the Web:

The Rooks executed a beautiful slam dunk on the Vets on Opening Day of the Rooks Vs Vets League. The Rooks Little Red Riding Hoods led the way with a three game sweep of the Commish's Veteran Rookie Edumacators, who by coincidence lost all three of their games. It took all Forty-Seven Samurai to pull two wins from the Rooks Philly Phanatics RK, but overall the Western Division was won by the Rooks 4-2.

In the Central confusion reigned among the Vets as Yo Mamas stripped the spangles off of fellow Vets Arizona Cha Chas, taking all three games. The Cha Chas didn't mind the losses so much as the fact that the home town Mamas refused to let the Chas Chas dance the Cha Cha during the 7th inning stretch. And they want their spangles back. The Lado Oesta Jaguares (don't expect me to spell that correctly ever again) garnered a first ever win against CA My best Friend, wetting their appetite (and other rookie apparel) for more.

In the East the Rooks again reigned supreme as the Pittsurgh (Ca. Padowans (what's that "(" all about) and Ashby Dicso Balls high fived each other with 2-1 series wins over seasoned (lightly with ground pepper and sprinkled with cajun sauce) Ruatha Weyr BlueRiders (what kind of normal name is THAT) and Gainsville Canucks54 (54 standing for the number of leagues penn has joined THIS WEEK) .

The Vets are stoic (somebody look up that word) about the losses. Once the euphoria wears off, the Rooks will quickly realize a fundamental truth. We have to play them again tonight?

It's just as I said, my teams ALWAYS start slow. It never fails! It's as regular as the sun coming up in the morning. But MAN! Talk about my team just not even showing up. Very disappointing.

In retrospect, I should have taken more time putting my L/Us together. Not that it would have changed anything but I just wasn't happy with them.

J. Nathan made my crap list lastnight as well. What a piss poor performance that was. My whole bully though really broke out the gas cans and flicked blue tips all over the infield.

I think the vets are just messing with my head... after my first two series vs vets I have Pokey Reese hitting .333 and Rolen hitting .158 :? I think you guys do this on purpose...you manipulate the rolls with your Jedi ways...only 6 games into the season and I am already lost and confused.

As I expected my fellow rooks in the west are making me proud :)

Hey Charlie that was pretty snazzy that report of yours!

LOL! ET was just messing with the rooks, letting them build up their confidence and then...POOF! He sets his L/Us and pulls the rug out from under the rooks feet! NICE! 8)

Nice to see my team put in an effort lastnight. Unfortunately Bobby M. is still getting yanked around the ballyard.

The Editor fired himself after it was revealed that he put the west in the east and visa versa (or is that versa visa?) in the Opening Day report. As a result the Little Red Riding Hoods (ie, the Hoods) will go down in history as the only team to lead both the west and the east in the same season (or something like that). The Editor has since re-hired himself after getting inundated with requests (2) to continue reporting progress on the league. The likelihood of daily reports is contingent upon whim, but bribes and BlueRiders wins will help. Hoods and Yo Mamas rocked last night, leading the east (not west) and central, respectively, with 5-1 records. But the Hoods have to be a little concerned at the 15 game trip to the DL of sexy Little Richie Sexson. Who's going to lead the Wave on the Hoods bench? The Padowans 4-2 record leads the west. How do they do it? A team WHIP of 0.96 helps.

Best Front Office headline: "Ruatha Weyr BlueRiders crush Gainsville Canucks54, 13-1" (failing to note that this was the only game the BlueRiders won, but who's counting?). Send in your own favorite front office or play by play quotes.

The hot scoop of the day comes via an unnamed team source that the Samurai's lineup for the first two series has been made out by geisha girls based on cuteness factor of batting stance displayed during a night at the harem. Winners of two games over the Samurai, Hoods teammates were (1) quick to congratulate the geisha girls for helping the Samurai get that one win, and (2) asked to have their own batting stance cuteness factor rated by the Cha Chas.

Actually, sexy Richie was injured while taking a good old leer at some of those geisha girls. I got a bit injured meself looking at 'em.

Never you fear for our Little Red Bench...we counter the loss of "Sexy" Richie with Jolbert "Barbara" Cabrera, and the short loss of "sugar" Ray Sanchez with Craig "Ladies man" Counsell.

If they ever wrote the AI so HAL wouldn't do things like start Quinlan in left, move Crawford to center and DH Hunter and actually make a decent lineup, I would never do anything past the draft. As it is now, I don't tweak any individual settings (unless someone is WAY unbalanced), let HAL run the bullpen with few restrictions and never have match-up SP. Today, in order to find out what lineup HAL had used, I read my first box score in weeks!

I've often wondered how great I would be if I paid more attention! :P
