Do relief pitchers carry any fatigue over from one game to the next as they do in the computer game? Seems like some relievers are compiling a ton of innings, which obviously distorts the value of one dominating pitcher.

I just discovered this game (though I've been playing Strat since 1970) and am hooked. I spent two hours trying to maximize my last .50 million, and if Jim Fregosi doesn't get a hit soon I think I'm gonna lose it. That's what I get for drafting an overpriced childhood favorite.

The relief pitcher rules are the same in TSN as in the computer game I believe, with one possible exception.

Using the pitchers settings and getting creative with your SP/RP types, teams could force HAL to over-use a stud reliever even when fatigued. This resulted in some very large rp innings of 250-300 innings pitched.

There is now supposed to be a forcing function in TSN that increases the severity of the fatigue in those cases to make it undesirable to do that anymore.

I'm not sure what you consider to be excessive innings pitched, though. An rp can easily pitch in two out of every three games without carryover fatigue, so it is still possible to get quite a bit more innings out of a player than what his card says.

Also, note that TSN does not use a computer game setting that forces pitchers to stay close to their "real life" numbers. As far as how many innings they pitch, there is no difference between an R2 with 20 real life innings and an R2 with 90 real life innings.
