I have them both on a Great American Ballpark team. Any thoughts?

For an extra .15 you can get Matt Lawton and get the better OBP, same defense, and not have to worry about the injury factor. Pratt has done well in leagues I've seen him perform.

Thanks

picked up Lawton. Dropped Castillo for Brett Boone (needed the extra power-had three weak hitters). Upgraded Pratt to Estrada. (has hit well for me on about 10 teams)

I wouldn't dump Wilkerson, if you don't want him on your team, he's very tradeable. However, he's done great on the teams I've had him in, and gives you much needed flexibility in the of and at 1st if the need arises.

Wilkerson

In a power park-he's good for 35 HRs. I have had him on at least 6-7 teams-including my last in Petco (a championship team).

NEVER DUMP

Castillo or Wilkerson - during the regular season.

1st of all, they are 2 of the best players in the set - usually Top 3 PIX.

Wilks avg will be over or under .200, but the important stats Runs and RBI per AB will be in the 100+ runs and 80+ RBI range from the 1 or 2 spot. Plus he is a great defender with speed who plays 4 different positions well - Power, OBA, speed, Def. What more could you ask for for under 6M. He outperforms Abreu in every category except SB's and BA, but Abreu's poor Def has to be subtracted from his Off. production. He is probably easier to get and costs less.

Castillo is a flawless 2B, does well in the 1 or 2 spot from bOTH sides, runs well, moves runners, doesn't get injured etc.

If you are not going to keep either or BOTH - it is way better to trade them - as they are 2 of the most tradeable players around.

Otherwise you lose 2.5M+ in cap, while simultaneously giving up 2 Top 10 players in the process...

I wish I was in a league with you. Rookies

I actually looked at your team...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Fri Nov 18, 2005 2:27 pm

Boone isn't that bad a choice at GAB. Wilk is ideal. If Beltran is available, dump Helton - a classic underperformer this year - put Wilk in LF, use Freel as your DH at leadoff with Wilk in the 2 spot followed by Beltran and Drew vs RHP and watch the runs pile up.

It is actually a great team - possible championship calibre. Sorry I jumped to conclusions. With the extra Cap - pickup a great LH killing catcher - Blanco (Only .51) or Torrealba (Only 1.15) there are others. Then see if you can get Glaus at 3B if he is available with a decent BU under 1.5M. glaus in that mix is killer. If he gets 400+ AB he'll likely hit 40+ HRs and with all that LH OBA in front of him - drive in 100+ easily.

Spend the extra cap on middle relief upgrade and you will have a 90+ win team. Freel/Estrada /Boone/Rollins/Wilk/Drew/(Beltran/Glaus) and a good RH 1B who hits RHH and a LH who hits Lefties in a platoon (Giambi?) would be a GAB lineup that nobody could pitch too.

Again, my apologies on the initial criticism. I thought you seaso had begun.

Changes-took your advice

Postby genevajack » Fri Nov 18, 2005 5:27 pm

Dumped: Helton, Lawton

Added: Mike Sweeney, (Meloni platoon, Hensen B.U.) M Alou, (E Martinez platoon), Rincon

But kept David Wright (higher injury resilience than Glaus)
