Need to know Division Alignment

Postby centerfielder17 » Tue Mar 13, 2007 8:10 am

Can this be decided and posted? Also, what is the time frame for getting the league set up and entering our initial rosters? I would suggest we finish the 'draft' portion as early in the week as possible to allow the maximum time for pre-season trades.

Thanks!

Read earlier posts...league already set up...players loading as soon as prepared. No set divisions were made.

So, what do you all think of the draft format? Is it better or worse than a normal serpentine and do the teams turn out to be about the same?

I was surprised that Bal/SD and Minn/Mon were the first two picks. I had hoped that the different format would free up the first two draft slots to pick any team they wanted. I kind of expected that Houston and Cubs would be the best first round picks. As it turned out, Washington was also a heck of a first round pick.

I ended up deciding on Baltimore after realizing I'd be able to get 8 starters, and 3 SPs and 3 relievers from them alone. It made it worth getting the last pick in the 2nd round.

We'll see how season plays out...maybe it'll spur some more ideas, but overall I think you had a great idea for this draft.

I think the format created new strategies for the first round picks. My 9th pick was pretty far down, I was going for a solid up the middle players, and fill in the rest with the second team. I would have taken the Cubs if they were available, but Boston was an ok choice and not so expensive that I was last in the second round.

But there were only a few good teams left in the second round, so there was not much left after the 6th pick in round 2. But that would happen in any format.

It was fun, I'm looking forward to season. I wish it started tonight!
