Ok I did manual picks for my 12th round.. and my 14th round...
I am wondering if it is the non-surpentine nature of the draft.. as we seem to get hung at the ends of the rounds.. but we did not have that problem the last draft.. <shrug> or maybe it is just chugging along.. ;)

Blue and I have a trade.. to be confirmed, of course, by Blue

Sizemore
Greene
my 3rd round

for

Mauer
Wang
Blue's 2nd round

Cubit took Randy Johnson in error. We will have issues. 8)

He needs to figure out who he missed in his proxies, let me know who that was, I will load them in proxies and then trade that player for RJ.

AFK for 20 min

Ok.. draft has stopped at Sykes 25th pick..

so that means that 24 rounds maybe have gone well.. WTG guys.. :P :P :P

Cubit - has to drop Randy Johnson.. or work out a trade with sSkes.. :)

mtarbell - you have to confirm who your used as a proxy pick for Frank Thomas

I have given Md our problem with Frank Thomas and he is aware of the pricing issues raised by Jack.

Just a note, MD said he was working ont eh database wheil we were drafting.. so that could be why the chugging and stuttering was going on ..

Sykes and I need another approval. I am going out for 2-3 hours. You know who my pick is :)

I too am leaving shortly for 4-5 hours.

I will browse Cubit's picks quick and see if I can figure out who he missed. If not, we are on hold until Cubit checks in and offers me a trade including RJ before we can start the "real draft".

Ok- Cubit meant to take Reed Johnson not Randy Johnson. Sykes take Reed and make a trade back and I am sure Cubit will accept it (we can still move on with the draft). I input Liriano as a proxy.

[quote:023d517917="akindian"]as i was prepping for this draft i was looking a h. penn. who was carded last year but not this. i also looked at r baldelli who i had the first year and had to drop last because he wasn't carded.

i think we should allow players carded last year but not this to be kept for 1 year. (sort of a rule 5)

maybe allow 2 of them on the roster. they would count as part of the 25 protected at draft time and as part of the 40 total. if they were not carded a second year then they would have to be dropped.

we can put that on the agenda for next year's winter meetings.[/quote:023d517917]

This is not a bad idea - suppose you have Alex Rodriguez, who just happens to go down on opening day with a torn ligament and misses the entire year. As our rules go now, when SOM doesn't card him the following year, whoever owns him is screwed.

We need to fix this - perhaps have an "injured reserve"

Don't like this. I think having it the way it is gives some consolation to those who finish on the bottom of the pile to get a chance at a comeback player.
