Rookie question

I'm not aware of the superfast mode thing. :?:

To link to your team, click on 2Statistics" than right click on your team name and "copy shortcut" Then just paste.

As for Thoms/hubbel vs. Mantle, a lot depends on your team makeup.

Welcome JB.

You may be talking about SOM's computer game (v 10.0). It's available on their web site for about 50 bucks (includes 2004 rosters).

As for Bishop. I've rarely seen him bat above the Mendoza line and his OPB is never as advertised either. I used him in Forbes '09 and he batted .177 with a .335 OPB (124 walks). Perhaps he's better in a hitter's park. As for your Mantle question: link your team first and we'll evaluate. You'll find the people here very helpful and knowlegable.

Good luck!

First, welcome aboard!

Looking at your team, IMO, even with your starting pitching, you need a deeper bullpen. HAL tends to do strange things no matter what settings you use. Konstanty will get pulled for one reason or another, and then you'll be in deep.

My other suggestion is to get more power. Grimm needs serious upgrading to play in Polo. Bishop has no power, Crosetti little, Boyer not enough for 3B, and Clemente is lacking as well. Even Bench is marginal IMO (7# to LH, 6# to RH). Yaz is great, and I love Thomas, I use him a lot. Crosetti is OK for your park. Hubble is good and Dean is one of the big bargains IMO. I would dump Young and Bench for cheaper options, and upgrade 1B, and 2B and look for a 3B in the same price range as Boyer with better power. You'll need a b/u for Clemente as well, as he will miss a lot of games. Anyway, that's my $0.02, FWIW. Good luck!

I think you have a power shortage to play in Polo. Your guys are not really up to it I don't think. Firstly get rid of Bishop post haste....some will disagree and tell you he is good, but he is the kiss of death as far as I am concerned. Polo is a HR park so you need HR hitters to play there unless you have a heck of a lot stronger starting pitching then you have now. In fact I would use few of those hitters in Polo. Clemente makes a nice OF'er for a small ball or neutral team with the big arm, but doesn't really fit all that well in Polo. If you go with 2 cheapies at 2B and SS you need to maximize your other hitters to make up for them....neither will hit worth a hill of beans. Look for BPHR's on the hitters card ...the more the better in Polo. If you have to go cheap at 1B ....maybe Cash or Mincher... you also need a lead off man, you don't really have one now. Thats more pitching then I would use in Polo, far more in fact. Good luck and have fun....thats the most important thing
