QUESTIONS FOR COMMISH BOB

Postby Risden » Thu Feb 22, 2007 11:55 am

Commish Bob,

(1) ERA 1 has 22 teams. If each owner grabs 5 teams each via the serpentine draft, that leaves 2 "undrafted" teams in which individual players can get drafted. How many rounds will these owners have to draft from these "undrafted" teams?

Is it 10 rounds with the 16th overall round used for stadiums? I don't see the need for stadiums to be picked because each owner can only select one of his five ballparks from the teams that he drafted, right? Or is the intention for all owners to know each ballpark BEFORE waivers?

(2) ERAs 2 & 3 have 24 teams each. If each owner grabs 6 teams each via the serpentine draft (as per the rules), that leaves ZERO "undrafted" teams in which individual players can get drafted. Once these six rounds are completed, there is no other "undrafted" teams to worry about. Is that correct?

When does the stadium get drafted here? The rules mention a 16th Round, but I guess that I am missing the reason for 16 rounds for these eras.

The concept sounds interesting. I hope that we can get it all done prior to March (or June, for that matter).

WE COULD - ERA1, that is :) also draft the 6 rounds BUT make the last one for HALF teams - i.e. - '03 Boston pitching, '06 Cleveland hitting, '06 Cleveland pitching AND '03 Boston hitting. This way we'd all draft the same number of rounds. I'd make a suggestion that NONE of the LAST two teams stadiums could be used in ERA1 :)

No need to wait for WC as ERA 3 would have been available to me anyways.

RESPONSE TO RISDEN

Postby rschwartz51 » Thu Feb 22, 2007 2:44 pm

Commish Bob,

(1) ERA 1 has 22 teams. If each owner grabs 5 teams each via the serpentine draft, that leaves 2 "undrafted" teams in which individual players can get drafted. How many rounds will these owners have to draft from these "undrafted" teams?

AT THE TIME I PROPOSED THE THEME MY THINKING WAS TO HAVR A 15 ROUND DRAFT CONSISTING OF THE 4 MANAGERS. MY THOUGHT THAT THEY WOULD MAKE A PERIOD OF TIME WHERE THEY COULD GET TOGETHER AND SPEND AN HOUR.

THE THOUGHT THAT THEY WOULD FIRST PUT TOGETHER THEIR TEAMS TOGETHER WITH THE 5 TEAMS AND THEN THE DRAFT COULD BE MADE SHORTER.

THERE HAS BEEN A PROPOSAL WITH 1 SUPPORTER THAT WE DRAFT HALF TEAMS. THIS WOULD BE FINE AND SEEMS CONSISTANT WITH THE THEME. UNLESS THERE IS AN OBJECTION WE COULD DO THIS..

Is it 10 rounds with the 16th overall round used for stadiums? I don't see the need for stadiums to be picked because each owner can only select one of his five ballparks from the teams that he drafted, right? Or is the intention for all owners to know each ballpark BEFORE waivers?

THIS WAS APPLICABLE ONLY IF WE DRAFTED PLAYERS. STADIUMS COME FROM THE TEAMS DRAFTED.

YES

I like that idea.

I LIKE THE IDEA AND UNLESS SOMEONE FIRMLY OBJECTS, LETS DO IT. THE STADIUMS FOR THE 2 TEAMS ARE INELIGIBLE.
