Wife outta town, babysitting kids, thought I had WAY more than enough time with this bunch and proxies (well, three.) set up to get through the next round (Iguchi, Castillo and, yes, Freel) to leave work, go out to dinner and sit through "Open Season" with the young 'uns.

Now not really sure which way to go. My default pick was gonna be Maddox, but now he's gone, too! Give me a half hour to pick and set up enough proxies to get us through the turn and back past me.

Took Adrian Gonzalez without much enthusiasm, as I now seem to be building a fairly boring team that's full of 601+ PA guys and spectacular defense (though my next pick Mark Ellis gave me only the latter). Really, really wanted to pull the trigger on the Giambino but I just couldn't justify putting him at 1B primarily, even if he'd be part-timing it at DH when Bonds goes down for his likely 35+ games this season; he'd prolly be giving up roughly a base a game.

Looks like -- just like last year -- our opening day will fall within 36 hours of real-life opening day. I like it! Gives a bit of time for roster tinkering and trades.

Let's see if we can finish this off this weekend (yeah, right!).

Just talked to my bro Mark. He put in 8 proxies before he left on a trip yesterday, but they must all be gone. He'll be at his destination by about 6 pm EST and will get this thing moving again after that.

Also: Just noticed that Alex Escobar was taken. By the infuriating Albatross, no less, who has swept off with at least a quartet of guys I really, really wanted.

Well it's nice to hear that I snatched up the one stadium I wanted at the right time. On a side note, I noticed that Kramed also made his team name the Moonrakers. Are we going to just go ahead and have two teams that have the exact same team name or will one of us have to switch?
