jet...you want to get your pitching early. If you don't, you lose out. I usually put one or two starters, then Gordon, and one of the better closers on my draft list before I even go for a hitter.

I've completed 3 80's seasons with two others in progress and in all 5 seasons I've gone after most of my 8 position players first. To top it off I usually go after my relief next as I belief that is where the deals are. Without trying to sound like I am pounding my chest my current .610 lifetime winning % in the 80's can attest this is at least one of the ways to win. :D

I think most people would agree with you about getting position players, as you have them for 150+ games, and SP for about 40. That's why it's not too difficult to get very good SP's in the upper tier of the draft. You certainly do lose out on the transcendent bats, though.

As for Gordon, I wish he were in the 80s game, but, whoop, there it is.

Ok jet, thanks for showing me another way to win. :) Judging from my short time playing this game and a couple of free trial games, I did not think it was wise to try for all my hitters first. My last two games I put RJ first on my list and didn't get him. Then I went for relief pitchers and then hitters.

Oh and pound your chest all you want to. When I have that winning percentage if I don't already, I may pound my chest too. :twisted:

Has anyone played a season where only one park was used? Wondering how it went.

The Benjamins Tournament thread is all about that. I think 3 or 4 seasons where parks are rotated. All teams use the same park each year.

We started out in Royals and then went to the Murph. It was very interesting seeing the different styles of the managers. We were supposed to do Kingdome next, but it looks as if we had some dropouts. :cry:
