Relievers With 0 Innings Through 27 Games

Ok I've played a few seasons in stratomatic but have never had a season where 2 of my relief pitchers had 0 innings pitched through 27 games. Now they are my 2 weakest relievers and I do have them on quick hook, max 1-2 innings and avoid either lefties or righties (depending on their weakness of course). I will say that I've had an unusually large amount of complete games so that could account for some of it. Also my other 4 higher priced relievers are stronger against one side (2 are strong against lefties and 2 are strong against righties). At this pont I don't care but I'm worried about reliever fatigue down the road. Thanks.

There is no fatigue "down the road", really; fatigue is only based on how much the reliever has pitched in the last couple of games. Possibly in addition to the complete games and your relief settings, your bad relievers have lower endurance? All other things being equal, it will pick the higher-endurance relievers over lower ones. Overall, it sounds like you have successfully set up the pen the way a lot of people would like to :) Except I guess you wasted a bit of money, but still, it doesn't seem like a bad situation.

Once had a team where 2 of my RP's went a total of 1 inning, one of them never getting into a game.

These two guys were on my team the whole year!!! You would think just once Peralta would be called into a game to get out a tough RH.

Just out of curiosity, what are your team/player bullpen settings? (SP as well)

Also... in which ballparks are you playing (home & away... since SP tend to rack up more IP in pitchers' parks)

Ok a little more information. I have a 6 man bullpen--Shields, Rodney, Wise, Helling, Sherrill, and Peralta. Shields and Rodney set as setup and closer against lefties/righties. With Shields, I also added "slow hook". Helling i have avoid lefties and quick hook. Wise I have Avoid righties, quick hook, and max 2 to 3 innings. Finally, Sherrill and Peralta I have max 1-2, quick hook, avoid lefty or righty (depending on the reliever). I've maximized closer and relief usage is normal. By far, Helling has pitched the most innings in my bullpen (probably because of his R3 rating). I would like to change that but so far he's been a stud in comerica (19.2 IP, 1.37 era, 1.07 whip). I realize this won't last so I'm wondering how I can get Shields more involved (he only has 6 IP so far). The other parks in my division are Comerica, Coors and AT&T with most having a righty dominated lineup. Here is a link to my team:

looking at your stats, i'd say your hitters are rolling on their hit rolls an AWFUL lot...jack wilson with a .400 obp?! good staff, your settings seem to be working, key is to minimize how often puts mitre in a game!

I know I've been extremely lucky with my hitters so far but I've also been fairly unlucky with my bullpen. Their numbers don't look awful but they seem to be blowing a lot of close games. I'm sure by the end of season, my hitters and pitchers will end up where they're expected to be.

I've had that happen a couple of times, usually when I carry more than 10. I posted about it the first time, and then HAL started using him and he got shelled.
