HALF BAKED LEAGUE -- We're full

Postby Frank Bailey » Wed Nov 23, 2005 5:35 pm

I love half & half leagues and have been looking for a new one to join. Since no one has offered one recently here, I guess it is my turn.

THE RULES
1. $100 million, DH
2. Live draft 4 pitching staffs and 4 offenses from the ATG 2 pool of teams. You have exclusive use of the players on the units you draft through Game 42 (example – you could end up with the offenses from the 27 Yankees, 59 White Sox, 75 Reds and 11 Giants; your starting lineup and offensive subs can only come from those units – and your pitching might be the 24 Senators, 65 Dodgers, 86 Astros and 53 Dodgers).
3. Separate, same-time serpentine drafts for pitching and hitting, opposite order from each other (you pick first on offense, you pick 12th on pitching, 2-11, 3-10, etc.)
4. Pick 3 high-to-low to determine draft order. High number chooses to go first on offense or pitching. Low number then goes first on the other. We will run the drafts concurrently on the Individual League Chat site.
5. Divisions 1,4,7,10 East, etc., from the Pick 3 numbers, high to low.
6. No use of players from units other than your own nor trading (individuals or team units) before Game 42. After that, any transactions OK within standard SOM rules.
7. Stadium taken from one of your 8 units (it will be possible for 2 teams to have the same stadium).
8. No time limit on draft picks (but please only sign up if you will be available to check in a couple/few times a day or leave proxies). We should be able to do the draft within 3-4 days even if some people take their time.
9. Frenzy, not waivers, since owners can only take players from their own pools.
10. No whining.

Nothing goes better with a turkey sandwich than studying rosters, planning a draft strategy.
