Franchise Historical Theme League - Sign Ups

Postby LMBombers » Mon Aug 22, 2005 10:26 am

I suppose that when we auto draft and get substitue players that we have to cut them if they never played for your team [b:713a861c14][u:713a861c14]and[/u:713a861c14][/b:713a861c14] they played for at least one other owner's team. If the substituted player happens to have never played for one of the teams in this league then you may keep him as one of your 3 non-franchise players if you like. Is that correct?

LM... that is pretty much on the mark.

If you AD a player w/ restrictions, you must drop him automatically. If he is eligible as a FA, you can keep him as one of your 3... but you can never have more than 3 at ANY time.

I apologize for asking all these questions but I just thought of another one. Lets say that no owner picks the Rockies. Therefore Helton, for example, would be a FA. What is to stop someone from drafting him in the AD and then he is already on the roster and no other owner has a shot at him. There would be many other players that could be used in this example. It would be hard to know if an owner drafted certain players or were given them via an AD substitution wouldn't it?

I re-arranged the initial post so that it is clearer, but the FA draft comes after Team selections and before the AD.

Draft orders:
1. Team Selection - based on state lotto's (low to high)

2. 3 Round FA - based on compiled team record from 2000-2004 (low to high... NON serpentine)

3. AD - drafting eligible players of your franchise
