Knowles only appearances were starts. I had Milliken go down with a 15 gamer and Russo had another 5+ game injury.

I'm running something similar right now as an experiment. I had one 18 inning game that three non-pitchers got into (and one got the win!), but otherwise onlt my top 5 have pitched.

I believe this strategy involves setting your rotation with five nickel pitchers and then setting your per-game starters with your studs, cuz HAL does not like to use pitchers who are scheduled to start.

I say congrats on getting it to work. Speaking of gaming the game, anybody else notice the run on Hershberger now that it's been determined that your last healthy catcher cannot be injured?

PBTR has been saying that all along about Hersh. I finally started grabbing him. Now I have a backup catcher who just happens to hit well over .300 on a regular basis (although I've also noticed that every time he gets on via pinch hit, HAL then immediately pinch runs for him).

That last part is not a hard fast rule. I think it is RARE that it happens. But, I once had both my catchers injured, and HAL used my backup 3b to catch two games, so it CAN happen.

It was a DH league, no way to get that many otherwise.

Fricken hilarious pitcher usage. I hope everybody reads this.

BTW I have regularly been using two I5 and I6 catchers per 2005 team, and they NEVER have gotten injured at the same time. Recommend Mauer, Vance Wilson, Piazza (if you can stand the defense), Cota, Santiago.

Exploit those two together and you have an automatic leg up on everybody else.
