You will need to set a team up eventually for this league (with a $100 million cap). Let me know if you need help and I can walk you throught he steps.

You got it. Once you know which 1969 team you have in the first round (you have the fifth pick, which is nice), you should buy your 1969 team, review that roster and select the 15-20 players you want to protect and post them here for all to see.

Important: the team that you purchase from TSN needs to be updated to a $100 million cap so that you can suceessfully join this league, once it is established. This salary cap update can be done any time during the draft.

Again, if you have any questions, ask here. i know most of the guys in this league and they'll gladly help.

Barring any other mistakes on my part, the divisions look like this:

EAST: dave3504, franky35, Rube, knighterrant
CENTRAL: Genegrid, SportsCzar, BobSchwartz, risden
WEST: tomwistar, mfl536, keyzick, Centerfielder17

New guys to the game: you will be told when to enter your team in order to keep these divisional assignments intact. Looks like a fun leaguee to me.

How are we supposed to know what Free Agents are still available, will there be a list? Even if one looks at all the lists of protected players it's not easy to remember who's remaining.

Also,what if say after protecting the 15-20 guys we go over the $100M?

Myself or one of the vets will copy and paste all of our protected players on to one message. I think this is the best. It will be a bit cumbersome but remember you will have only a few spots to fill so you should be able to narrow your search for players down enough to make it easy.

REMEMBER THAT YOU ONLY LIST 5 PLAYERS FROM YOUR 2ND TEAM.

That's the fun part. Pick players that are good, but too many good ones put you over the limit - nobody has the luxury of being Steinbrenner here...

This is not a game of baseball knowledge as much as it is a game of asset management. Picking quality players in the free agent draft (Round Three & Round Four) might not be possible because most worthwhile players will already be selected, but one or two cheap guys that can help your squad as a middle reliefer or platoon catcher would be nice.

Have fun with it. (And watch Genegrid and BobSchwartz - they'll help you prior to opening day, but once the season starts, they'd brush back their own family members for a win). :wink:

Do we need to protect 25 players that will pass through the autodraft?

If so, then we need to calculate whether we are in under the 100 mil cap AND make sure that we have 10 pitchers and 15 hitters.
