Agree that having a SW bat R or L is too much micro-managine & will have almost zero impact.
That said, Tee I'm not sure if you read Dean's post above, but he's right on the mark & this is the solution that Bernie has committed to implementing & needs to be implemented. There should be 4 lineup options: vs RH, vs LH, vs reverse RH, vs reverse LH, and then we get a lot more realistic managerial choices.
And I disagree 100% with the reverse matchups not being done in real MLB. I grew up on the Orioles in the 70s & 80s and Earl Weaver used to do this a lot. LaRussa does this with RPs all the time. And certain pitchers have pitches like a screwball or change that are particularly effective against the opposite hitter and all managers know this from scouting reports & often adjust accordingly.
