Huntington Question

Why is Huntington Avenue Grounds coded as such a homerun park? The little I know about it suggests that it was a huge, though it had a short porch for both lefty and righty pull hitters.

A couple things...

1. I don't think Huntington even had an OF fence in '03.

2. When it comes to ballpark ratings, it's not the dimensions of the park but the number of homers hit relative to everywhere else. I think Buck Freeman might have been the HR champ that year.

creates an odd ballpark skew in that a different type of player is likely tohomer because there is no fence than one who can hit a ball out because the fence prevents an outfielder from catching it
