I gotta keep telling myself this..

Ok.. so I couldn't leave for Happy Hour because I was hopin' to be able to check on my playoff team before 10. When I was able to check on my team I became frustrated with HAL's performance over the past two playoff games.

8.1 innings of relief in the first round of the playoffs.. 7.2 of them HAL used Matt Garza (my scrub .50 SP/RP). I understand part of it was due to the way I have my bullpen settings. I still think HAL shoulda used Howry or Ryan at some point but again.. partially my fault. But Garza [i:3ec7b7b73a]was[/i:3ec7b7b73a] in my starting rotation and I didn't think he'd be called in to pitch. I say [i:3ec7b7b73a]was [/i:3ec7b7b73a]because all of a sudden my settings were erased. Is this common? Settings being erased. Do I need to check my individual and team settings every night? I noticed this before on my individual settings but cmon.. :)

But did HAL stop there? Nah.. he kicked me in the nuts by giving one game injuries to both Drew and Hudson. So now I gotta play game 5 with a 4 at 2b.. Again my fault..

Okay.. since I ignored the call of Happy Hour I think I'll swing by the local pub to watch tonights games.

Love ya HAL.. be good to me tonight. 8)

The obvious answer is no. The most predictable answer is it is not possible. You are the first in my 6 years here that has publicly made this assertion.

With that said...I think it has happened to me before. In a few past seasons (not 07..yet) I feel that I have had my setting erased(either completely or in part). The problem is that with so many teams going at once I was unable to pinpoint the event or the cause. I know... it can be written off as me being stupid or forgetful....and both would be correct to a certain extent. But I have very consistent settings and I know I have forgotten to set them at the beginning of a season and not discovering it until a dozen games into a season. I'm talking about an erasing or a distinct alteration of my standard settings 100 or so games into a season.

Let the conspiracy plots begin.....

Haha.. I'm in way blaming the game or HAL. I thought maybe the settings were erased at the end of the regular season / prior to the playoffs. This is only my fourth completed team all-time playing TSN SOM so I guess I was hoping it was a rookie mistake and not complete operator error like it probably was. And like you I have very similar settings for all my teams. Extra Conservative IBB, place stud Closer as Setup L/R, Leave Closer Blank, etc.. Which is why i understood why Garza was stuck pitching. But if you saw my team stats and looked at how Howry/Ryan were used the way I wanted all season long, you'd wonder as well.

So for those thinking I'm blaming HAL.. I have to THANK HAL for even getting me into the playoffs. My team was hovering about 5 games back about four weeks into the season so I erased my starting lineups cause I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. I let HAL make all the lineup decisions and thought I'd use the season as a learning experience and try to figure out his moves. He ended up taking my team on a hell of a tear and I won the division by nine games.

Which is why I'm hopin he shows me some love tonight!!!! Game 5!!!

PS - I guess by bringing my gripes to the boards I'm gonna get no-hit tonight! :D
