I have the following preferences:
(1) Keeping the 6 undrafted teams out and allowing unlimited trading with a $100 million franchise cap/$80 million roster cap
The reason for this is that it will facilitate trading, making it more of a genuine GM experience than normal. For example, if you have the Mets & Yankees, you'll have a hole at 2B but A-Rod and David Wright at 3B. You can then trade David Wright to another team that has an extra 2B.
In this case, trades will fill most if not all roster holes, and the players from COL, TB, KC, etc... aren't necessary (The pickings are going to be awful slim after the first 5 or 6 picks as well - the second lotto drawing should be renamed the Pick Helton).
(2) Keeping the 6 undrafted teams out, unlimited trading with an $80 million or $100 million ordinary cap.
(3) Allowing unlimited trading within the drafted franchises, but capping the number of players from the undrafted teams to no more than 2 per team (selected in an 2-round draft)
(4) Mo's proposal but with a requirment of only 18 franchise players per team (instead of 20) to give a little more flexibility for trading.
However, I am perfectly happy to play with the rules Mo suggested - thanks for organizing this league!
