Cutting it too close...

Seems like 5 man rotations are the way to go in 2007 but I see a lot more pitcher injuries than in previous years for some reason. Perhaps that's not true but I notice it more because usually I use * starters.

First place team, last week of the season, and Gorzelanny goes down for 15. The cheap bullpen where Heilman gets all the innings has worked out well but now he becomes my fifth starter, and my bullpen is nothing but four very cheap and highly directional relievers...

It's after the trading deadline so I can't go out and get a cheap fifth starter.

One game lead in my division and two game lead for the wild card. If I make the playoffs it will be a miracle.

Let this be a lesson to you... Carry a cheap sixth starter I guess...

I always thought that one of the unspoken advantages to using a 5 man non SP* is that when you have an injury Hal goes to your best long reliever rather than a cheap .50 starter.
