Jimmy Key hurls a no-hitter!

I picked up Jimmy Key in a trade and he gets bombed in his first outing, but recovers with a no-hitter in his second start.

Congrats mrm! He did the same thing for me in the season I'm currently playing. I picked him up in a preseason trade. He piched his no-no on opening day. Hope that's a good omen. :D

Congrats Mike...I just dropped Key in a league. He was unhittable for lefty hitters, but righty's ate him alive. Dropped him before 0-4 became 0-8!! That was the only time I've had him...nice to see he can actually git-r-done.

Out of all the available left handers, only Higuera seems to perform consistently better than Key. Guidry, Valenzuela and Carlton have high price tags, but are very hit and miss in my opinion. Viola, Black and Tudor can have good seasons, but I think Key remains the most consistent performer.

I've got this guy on just about every team I have, and he always performs well. Low walk rate, with a chance for excellent years. I'd place him right there with Higuera, were his K rate higher.

I've been thinking about trying Bud Black, as well. He strikes me as a consistent pitcher. I also like Jack Morris because he gives you innings and, overall, he's not going to bottom out with a horrible year (I did have him with a 3-14 start, however, from which he recovered and when 12-19; he had at least 4 tough luck losses).
