If you have steal set to aggressive and Roberts as "steal more", he's going to go often. I found when using "aggressive", HAL was reasonable with guys not checked to "steal more". If he is not checked to"steal more" and is still going for third, you would have to change to a "normal" setting. As for the H & R, if it's set to "aggressive", it's happening as much as you can get it to, which is probably far too often. You want to get it down to "normal" or lower, with the appropriate guys checked "H & R more". I think once a game would be a lot of attempts for the H & R, even when set to "aggressive", so there are still many opportunities for your team to hit into DP's.
