Just can't wait to get on the road again...(whine alert!)

Yep, it isn't home sweet home for my 'tour' team. Playing at Kaufmann, my HOME record now stands at 12-24. They've been outscored at home by a margin of 209-122, and outhomered 52-22. Team ERA AT HOME is 5.30. They've been outscored in every series except 1. Sanchez, Saunders and Cain are getting killed at home. Check out these Home/Road ERA splits:

J. Saunders 6.21/3.94
A. Sanchez 5.36/3.40
M. Cain 6.48/4.36
S. Olson 3.86/3.35

Mike O'Connor, he of the less than a million salary, has a 2.42 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP at home. Go figure.

While I can account for the huge difference, which is largely the result of walks (not totally unexpected, but still way too high at home), and HRs, I can't figure out WHY. I have no idea how I can give up 52 HRs in 36 games when the stadium plays 4-4 to HRs, and the pitchers give up very few natural dingers.

Road is better, ERA, WHIP and HR allowed go down, BA/OBP and Slug go up. Unfortunately, I've blown 12 saves on the road. Add it all up, and I'm looking at a horrendous, putrid 28-47 record. Thank goodness for Mulligans.

I'd ask for advice, but making subtle changes at this point is like straightening deck chairs on the Titanic. What's happening at home shouldn't continue, and if it does, all the changes in the world won't help. BTW, I dropped Rafael Betancourt, who had blown 7 or 8 saves and had an ERA close to 6, and replaced him with Fernando Rodney, who immediately went out and gave up 2 dingers in his first couple of home appearances before getting hurt (what's up with that??), and has now given up 13 ER in 8.0 innings.... you guessed it, ALL at home.

Okay, thanks, I'm done now....
