Hrbek or Cooper?

Postby 1crazycanuk » Sun Dec 04, 2005 5:39 pm

Please help. I can't figure out which one I should keep. I'm in Tiger stadium. I already sent a note out that one of them is available...who should I keep?

I never got your note (and I'm in your league), but I have never been impressed by Hrbek. Cooper will hit anywhere, but Hrbek has always disappointed me. I'm sure others have had better results. See what kind of offers you get. Another option is Leon Durham

Hrbek is a 2e himself so the D is not that dramatic

Well, thanks for your advice guys. I can't understand why you didn't get the note YountFan. That's wierd. I had them both on my waiver list but didn't think i'd get both.

I bet nobody got them. I often forget to pick the All teams in league selection when I send a note. Did you get the note? If note then you did not select all teams in league

If you can only keep one, keep Cooper. He has 4 years that are lights out, in any park, and one year that is very very bad -- if you get it you'll know it within 18 games or so, and you can drop him.

Hrbek has 5 cards that look very good on paper -- but I've had similar experiences to YountFan with him. I did have one good season where I had him and Hernandez. he played all season as DH, hit 28 HR, batted .282. Hernandez won the league batting crown at .345. My team won 92 games and did not make the playoffs.

Good luck with it.

Watch out for Yount Fan. He's a shark

LOL, thanks man. haha YountFan's cool though.

Yeah, I kept Cooper and dropped Hrbek to pick up Madlock to be my DH. Man I hope I don't have Cooper's bad card. After all this trouble, that would suck.

Crazy,

YountFan is cool -- I was kidding, he taught me alot when I first started playing a couple years ago; he'll share information with you (as will alot of managers) even if it could hurt him a little competitively.

If you gotta have a bad card (like Cooper), better to have it with a 1B -- there are so many good 1B's -- even low price guys like Aikens, Alvin Davis, Upshaw, Chambliss can be serviceable, and you can find outfielders to play 1B like Oglivie, Jack Clark, etc.

The positions you definitely don't want bad cards are 2B, SS and CF -- there aren't that many talented players at those positions.

Good luck withyour league,

Sean
