Genevajack, the only way to answer your question is to note that the following conditions exist: [b:3f3183dc5d]1.) You must maintain a 20 franchise player minimum and 2.) once a franchise player becomes a FA, his rights are retained solely by his original franchise, even if he was earlier acquired by trade and then released by another team.[/b:3f3183dc5d]

If a FA franchise player is reacquired by his franchise (in effect, purchased from the minor leagues), then he could be traded again -- as long as the team acquiring him maintains its 20 franchise player minimum. After the auto-draft, and subsequent trades, a team could conceivably have up to 8 non-franchise players on a 28-man roster. However, if the team has only the minimum 24-man roster, then only 4 non-franchise players are allowed.

Its possible that a team could subvert the purpose of the supplemental draft by drafting stud players they have no intention of using-to thwart the ability of others from ever using them also. However, trades and changes of mind could cause this situation.
