Thanks, I guess I'll have to be more patient with him as far as his LH hitting.

You're better off with DiMaggio.

Thanks, but he is not available. I'm thinking that I probably should have gone with a platoon and put the exrtra money in pitching before the season began.

I prefer Mick in small ball parks to give me a semblance of offense. Here is a noteworthy example:

Not sure I ever used him in a hr park. Gorman Thomas is a better value there IMHO.

I'm been amazed with my Thomas's lately... (Ooh, that sounds kind of gay...)

I would rather go with Joe D in a pitchers park....it seems that his Zero arm is a drawback in a hitters park, where you generally have weak pitching, and a "cannon" is needed in CF to deter the other managers from going "aggressive" on you on the base paths, and perhaps saving you a few valuable runs here and there.

Mays is my favorite, but Mickey is not far behind...just puts up awesome numbers every time. :)

I'd just about always take Mays over Joe but he is difficult to get.

DiMaggio is getting harder and harder to get. I'm not so concerned about the arm, but the injury.

An Averill/Walker backup platoon can mitigate that somewhat, though.

yes, there is that concern too...especially for the $$ :)

But he would do in a pinch for sure PBTR!

I've used the Mick twice:

Thru 135 games in Dunn:
vs. L 197 65 8 1 5 24 14 32 .330 .457 .373
vs. R 320 95 7 2 44 82 52 68 .297 .744 .395
Total 517 112 15 49 106 66 6 4 .310 .634 .387

Full season in Municipal
vs. L 205 70 5 0 12 45 16 38 .342 .542 .392
vs. R 385 134 14 9 54 137 93 80 .348 .852 .476
Total 590 184 19 66 182 109 5 0 .346 .744 .449

I'm not impressed with his performance vs righties in Dunn. Is he worth it? Flip a coin.
