Time for Strat-O-Matic to improve their injury system

Injuries in SOM:

I think it's time SOM improves it's injury system. If a player player 140 or more games, why should he miss 40 or more?

It's based somewhat randomly and I believe it should have a tier system. For example: If he played 150-162 games, miss no more than 1-5 games at a time; 130-149 games played 3-10 games per injury; 100-119 games played 5-15 games per injury. 51-99 games played 10-20 games per injury and 1-50 games played 15-25 games per injury.

Of course it could also be based on a plate appearance system instead of games played.

As far as I know, 600 or more plate appearances limits injuries to more that 3 at any stretch. Other than that, I don't know that there is a limitation, just random.

I'm fine with that, if it starts getting too into mirroring actual results, then the danger of a "normalization factor" on actual stats creeps into conversations as well (ie, not allowing more of any cumulative quantitative stat than was actually incurred during their real season). I think I read that was once implemented unknowingly to the SOM community, screwing people's strategies (and fun).

Statis-Pro Baseball used a tier system but I think SOM system is fair.

Classification INJ:
Relates to how the man was used and his ability to stay in lineup..
INJ: 0 Played in every game.
INJ: 1 Played in all but one game.
INJ: 2 Missed only a few games.
INJ: 3 Missed 4-5 games.
INJ: 4 Missed 6-10 games.
INJ: 5 Missed 11-20 games.
INJ: 6 Missed 21-30 games
INJ: 7 Missed about half the season.
INJ: 8 Did not appear very often.

0 Remainder of this game only
1 One additional game
2 Use first digit of next random number
3 Two plus first digit of next random number
4 Four plus first digit of next random number
5 Six plus first digit of next random number
6 Use next random number. Maximum Is 20
7 Use next random number. Maximum Is 30
8 Use next random number. No limit
