New idea for a region/franchise league with a little twist..

Sign up for one of the 12 region franchise teams below. You have exclusive rights to these players.. no other team can ever select players from your assigned franchise teams. You can make as many roster changes as you want with the players from your assigned franchises.

There are 6 MLB teams that have not been assigned to one of the 12 -2 team region franchises.. These 6 teams (Kansas City, St. Louis, Colorado, Seattle, Arizona and San Diego) comprise the open free agent pool. Players from these 6 teams are open to the entire league for the entire season. This way if your 2 team franchise has a major gap, you can fill it from this modified free agent pool.

You must use a home ball park from one of the 2 teams from your franchise pair..

one more thing..

We will do a lottery to select drafting position and division placement since the in the initial draft we are all going for the same limited free agent pool... I think we also need a 8 - free agent players per team limit to at least keep some of the region/franchise intent in place... I am open to input from other GM's as the league fills up...

I think 8 might be too much. Five seems better. If you have it at 8 then you can have nearly 1/3 of your team as free agents. If you have it at 5 then you have to stick to the players in your region more. I'm fine with 8, but I think 5 is a better number for it.

When we do this in ATG we have to keep a minimum of 20 franchse players and trading is allowed as long as you have your minimum FA not available until after 1st 3 games and then anyone not on a roster is fair game as long as 20 min is kept If do it this way will take Indians REds

How about maximum of 6 free agents + the players from your 2 base franchise teams..after getting your feedback, and frankly I don't think there is enough talent from the 6 unassigned teams to have impactful players beyond the 6 per team limit...Trades are okay as long as the roster restirctions are followed.. What do you guys think?
