My first team ever WINS IT ALL.

My first team ever WINS IT ALL.

Postby the bigmje » Mon Jun 18, 2007 9:23 am

My first strat team that I bought has won it all.Quite exciting for something that in reality is so trivial.Truth was I was nervous about checking result of the game played last night as I was up 3 to 2 but on the road for last 2.But won 9 to 3.
Got in as Wild Card,13 games out and swept my division leader who had won 100 games in regular season.
Won Finals in 6 games as I went undefeated on road thru entire playoffs which was surprising since I was 1 game under during regular season.
Key to series for me was putting Delgado in clean up spot against righty's as he hit 5 home runs and basically won 3 of the 4 games I won.
Now comes the deflating part.My first won it all.My second team went to Finals and lost.My next 6 teams did not come close to making playoffs.
As I stated in a earlier post, the more I learn the worse I do.
But,I have that championship and will not have to spent every penny of my retirement money trying to obtain one.Just most trying to win another.

Hi thebigmje,

Congrats, my first team that I played won it all back in 2002. Have fun and keep that perfect record intact (mine went by the wayside).

Congrats...I had the same experience with my first team ever (back in 02 I think). Hope you continue with success...

Wonder if TSN suckers us in by letting newbies win...once you're hooked you're hooked....myself: 18,603 regular season games later, and only 5 more championships! .....

CONGRATS!!! :D :D

I also enjoyed similar success with my first team way back in 2002. Needless to say that while I have made the playoffs a few more times in 200X, I have yet to win another title.

Just got back from the victory parade down the main street in my town.
Did not take long as it is a very, very small town.
Now must head to Baltimore to interview for the Baltimore Oriole managerial job.Owner must have seen what a "incredible" job I did with my championship team.
Wish me luck.
