Who is the hardest guy to get in the draft in your opinion?

In my experience, it's been Ichiro as well. Lot of people putting him in the #1 or #2 slot, which is strange, because I've seen him underperform badly in a few leagues.

Ixhiro has had some really bad seasons. In one he had a .332 OBP , 30 extra base hits in over 700 PA, 29 stolen bases, 87 runs scored and 37 rbi. On another team he batted .267 with a .307 OBP.

Weird. In my 2nd round Tour team, Ichiro is one of the few guys on my team NOT underperforming.

Leading the league in BA with .350 (it helps playing in McAfee) and 15 steals in 42 games.

He may not always live up to his card with the bat...but that glove never rests. He saves a team 10-15 runs a year easy.

On a side note, these guys are impossible to get in the later rounds, but make great fodder for increasing your waiver position if you consider them non-essential to your team:

Yadier Molina: I keep pushing him slightly higher up the draft list, gambling someone lists him just a wee bit higher.

Matt Capps: A nice option (in a pitchers park anyways) that seems to be on everyone's list.

Hardest to Draft

Postby bczehnder » Mon Jun 25, 2007 5:13 pm

I also see Santana and pitchers the hardest to draft. There only a limited # of Stud Pitchers with 3 days rest and to everyones pt of getting a guy with their 2nd pick. That pretty much means he isnt that hard if you just use your first pick on him.

I've gotten Abreu twice at third. Any of the top three shortstops never have gotten.

abreu is tough to get- but I'm gonna stop drafting him- he's under .200 on 2 teams for me now. I think its really tough to get howard, vizquel. ortiz has been on FA wire about 1/2 the time after the draft.

Te only player Ive yet to see available after the draft is Ichiro. I've been able to pick Vizquel and other "1st round" guys up after waivers on ome teams. So enen though I've never tried drafting him I'll say Ichiro is the hardest player to get. I think there are too may other good CF optinos to take him 1st overall. On every team so far i've been able to get a 1 in CF.
