Round 3, League 4 - Live Draft Time

the official tournament of SOM Baseball 20xx

It helps to start a draft card so you can see what positions you've drafted and how much salary you've used. Like Barnak said the draft is probably set up so that you can only spend 76 miillion leaving 4 million for 8 .50 players to put on your draft sheet.

You must put all the players you drafted on the live site on your draft card.

Put these players on the bottom and the 8 auto-draft players on the top.

Read the proxy rules carefully (and please use proxies). I've seen teams end up with 4 1B because they didn't set up proxies correctly.

Ask if you have questions.

tacomakid-
go to somdraft.com
userid: tacomakid
password: test
on the left, under "enter draft" click on rd3lg4
on the left, click on "make your pick"
u can pick anyone u want to, just remember u need to pick a stadium and 17 players after 18 rounds... also, u will need to be able to fill out a valid draft sheet when finshed... (80M, 2 catchers, 4 RP, etc)...
after you make your first pick, you should set proxies... that way, if you arent around when it comes back to you (at pick 24) then the proxy will fire, and make a pick for you, so u wont hold up the draft, like you are doing right now :)

Sorry I held everyone up but I didn't know what to do next. I made my first pick and set up my proxy. I hope I did it right. Thanks for all the advise.

just a quick draft question. Was just wondering how the proxy works. If I put say 5 players in my proxy, will the first guy get picked automatically when it's my pick? Was also wondering what round, group, and priority mean. If I put someone in my proxy for round 1 and he's still there in round 2, will he still get picked or do I have to put round 2?

[quote:51bcd22875]Creating Proxies
Proxies are executed in order of ROUND,GROUP,PRIORITY

ROUND --- Round at which you want the proxy to execute, if you select 0 (ZERO) then the proxies executes current round, if you select Round 2 and its your pick in Round 1 or Round 3 that proxy WILL NOT be used. Round 0 is used when you dont care about the round and you just want to execute your proxies in order of GROUP then Priority.

GROUP -- You can group your proxies, ie group 2B,CF or SPs and you can flag "Delete group if picked" to YES if you only want ONE proxies from a group of several to be used. IE I want either Lowe or RJ but I dont want both....So the proxy would look like this...

Round--0, GROUP--1,DELETEGROUP--YES, PRI--1, D LOWE
Round--0, GROUP--1,DELETEGROUP--YES, PRI--2, R Johnson
Once I get my pick of Lowe the proxies for Lowe and RJ are both removed.

Delete if Group picked --- You MUST flag EVERY player in a group that you want deleted if any player in that group is picked.

ie.
ARod group 1 pri 1 Delete - N
Tejeda group 1 pri 2 Delete - Y
A Gonzalez group 1 pri 3 Delete - N
If you get Arod, Tejeda is removed but Gonzalez is still a valid proxy. If Arod was picked already and you get Tejeda, A Gonzalez still will be a valid proxy

You have to set every player you want deleted to YES.

To create a proxies, select/filter the same way you would to make a pick. Once you find the player you want enter the player ID in the Player ID box above the find name prompt. [/quote:51bcd22875]

This is from the help section. DH, answer to your both your questions is yes.

I typically use Groups instead of Rounds and use the delete Group when I get a player.

What do you mean...

"DH, answer to your both your questions is yes."

His second question was:

"If I put someone in my proxy for round 1 and he's still there in round 2, will he still get picked or do I have to put round 2?"

Once the round is over, aren't the players you put in the next round the valid ones? Why would players from round 2 carry over to round 3 if they are not in the same group?

Sorry Tacoma, I didn't answer everything since the help info answered that question.

You are correct. If you specify 3 players for Round 1 and you get the first one then the remaining two are off the board for Round 2. They may still show up on your proxy list but they are invalid since Round 1 is over.

Geez!!!

Why do the proxy? Everyone is taking sooo long.

I think I will turn my proxy off unless someone can convince me why it is a good thing,
